I am surprised there are so many Acosta-haters here. I really enjoyed most of his mixes. Except the last two that he came out with, which were really not anything to rave about (no pun intended LoL).

All Rights reserved is prob one of my favorite mixes ever.

Dunno

I dunno - I enjoyed a fair bit of Acosta back in the day. I'd probably cringe at a fair bit of it now, but meh - when him and Oakenfold were basically playing the same records I was known to rave to an Acosta set while simultaneously used car shopping from time to time.

...and that's pretty much the sentiment I gather from a good number of the responses on this thread.

Nothing to really dislike, but nothing that seems to warrant a second glance, either.

Kind of similar to Dave Seaman insofar as him not being terribly distinctive from the rest of the pack.

Oh man, I'd never actually recommend someone actually seek out an Acosta set. No, no, no - any number of promo sets with 8 year old trance tunes in them that get posted to the DJ promotion forum every month would be just as good.

I only remember him fondly because of the times he was associated with, not because he was really anything all that special.

She's just one of many unsuspecting PR agents who seem to innocently wander into precisely the wrong place.

Who could ever forget the fun that BT's PR agent was when he misplaced his daughter?

That was magical.

That is perfectly said.

Side note: what happened to Kimball Collins? He and Acosta where big around the same time but.....

Get out of my brain! Same thought occurred to me!

He was in Milwaukee a year or two back, I know that much for sure - I just remember seeing his name on the flier.
