The lesser of the 3 (basically) evils.

Right, the way to make your voite "count" is to understand the reality, which you can only do if you keep yourself informed with the daily news and polls. You have to maintain a pulse on the system if you want to make a difference with your vote.

If you really wanted Green to win, you'd join the party and try to convert existing constituencies by using a methodical approach of tracking each household via phone or door knocking to understand if your party has a chance.

If you haven't gone through the whole process to support what you truly believe in then your opinion doesn't matter (if the party you support is a tiny minority).

are you agreeing with me or do I need to get my dictionary to reply?

you gotta have a strategy and clear outlook - there's no way in hell Greens will win, so why not vote for a more feasible candidate?

Because if you really support a party, this is not the way to support them in the long term.

Numbers do matter, no matter how many seats a party wins. If a party keeps winning bigger percentage every election, one day they'll get seats. But if you don't vote for them now, how will they build up the long term support?

no vote is a useless or waisted vote....doesn't matter who you vote for......you have done your civil duty and have voiced your opinion.

Last election I went to the voting station and advised them that I would not be voting as I felt none of the parties represented what I wanted for Canada.

Jesus look at all the carbon tax fans

LOL @ all the NDP votes in here.

I lied when I said I voted for the Communists, I actually voted for the Marijuana Party of Canada.

No such thing.

1) Being able to choose freely is never a waste
2) Many of the smaller parties have gained popularity and each election the recieve more votes it helps them gain momentum because
- If they recieve 2% of the votes or more they get money each year for their campaining
- Word of Mouth

15 minutes left to vote!!

(Election coverage cancelled Beverly Hills lol)

I would not have guessed that you were a Conservative voter.

They'll probably come close, but in order to get a majority they need support in Ontario and it just won't happen, not even with both the Liberals and NDP promising to raise taxes.

Ok so unoffically Global has declared a conservative minority...

If this truly becomes the outcome can someone please tell me if anything positive came from this election... or was it just a waste of money and time??

Besides mixing up the seats a bit...

I can think of at least two positive things:

1) It keeps the Liberals out for another four years;
2) It hopefully sends a message to the Liberals that they need to do better than a weak orator, a carbon tax, and a lot of smugness in order to win an election.

Conservatives should want the Liberals to be offering real competition, because otherwise Harper will pander - as he has with the auto companies. Unfortunately they still have not learned their lesson, and we can only hope that another defeat (let's not forget that the election was partially a response to a challenge they issued, or more like a "dare") will drive the message home.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I hope that this will eventually bring some balance back to the political parties. The Liberals are almost as far left as the NDP; people used to vote for them because they were moderate. After Mulroney, I probably would have voted for them if I'd been old enough to vote.

{edit} actually nevermind

agreed.

I'd seriously consider Liberal if Martin or Bill Graham or someone like them (and ideology) ran as leader. But this green shift Liberals just don't appeal to me

I was born and raised in Alberta.

The conservatives must've put something in the water...

PC wouldn't necessarily be my first choice, but we don't have many right-wing options.
