so there is a girl at school that makes invitations and runs her own business.

i asked her if she knew of paper that is recycled and she sent me some info. if you want i can ask her if we can order just the paper through her.

it's called hopsack.

the girl's website for her business is:

http://www.catzyscreations.com/Catz...tions_Home.html

she is the sweetest girl and i saw her with a finished bunch of invitations and they were something out of this world gorgeous.

A girl at work recommended this blog with do it yourself ideas.

Even regional recommendations for Toronto.

When we got married in July, we were pleasantly surprised at how many options for products and services we found on EBAY and kijiji, we pretty much got all our vendors from those sites for half the cost of anywhere else, and phenomenal quality.

I just took a look at kijiji right now out of curiosity, the keywords "wedding piano" brought up a ton of results for piano players, and the word "wedding" alone, came back with any wedding service you could want.

www.kijiji.ca

...and if you need a decorator, PM me and I will send you our girls contact info, she was amazing and really affordable!

As for recycled wedding invites and other green products, you can check out these sites:

http://www.greatgreenwedding.com/

Hope that helps!

There is a service that offers RSVP responses but I would love to have a website that belongs to us.

Have you considered buying a website template?

http://www.templatemonster.com/cate...&style=&author=

The small price (usually less than $100) is to buy the template. The larger price is if you want no one else, afer you buy it, to be able to purchase the same template.
Pros. Already laid out and fully functional. Cost efficient. You can browse many previously made layouts.

cons: You'll need someone with basic web building skill to customize the images & text info. You'll need your own photographs to personalize and replace all the existing photography, as I'm sure you wouldn't want random people on your wedding website.

2. Does anyone know a really good pianist that will play for about 5 hours (minus the ceremony/speeches and of course breaks, I don't want someone's fingers falling off). A combination of formal wedding tunes (bridal march etc) but then some recognizable tunes as background music - classical to pop and everything in between.

Judging from what my friends in bands usually charge for shows, for 3 to 5 hours of live music, you'll be looking at anywhere from 1 to 5 thousand easily...if you're willing to pay that kind of coin, pm me and I'll put you in contact with some people.

comparativly, "professional" wedding dj's are around a grand for sounds, lights and music.

3. Does anyone have connections for craft paper for invitations or a printing specialist? I may just factor this out but I would love recycled paper invitations.

most printers use recycled paper. Style, paper type, amount of color and extra work (hole punches, die-cuts, folds) will dictate your costs. There's loads of places that have pre-designed templates that are flexible regarding design and layout so you can make them more customized and personal.

I'd suggest http://www.yellowpages.ca/ and search for invitation printers near your area. Call em' up and see if they do wedding sytle invitations. Head own to their stores and check out their catalogs.

4. Any other ideas gratefully received too

I would have thanked you for your input but to be honest, I find this line really offensive.

Now that wasn't very greatfully received then, was it? lol

I just think they were the last generation to romotely get it right and our generaton had made a mess of marriage to the point where it's almost a joke.

I hope yours works out and wish you the best

Yes, I just bit you. Why? Because I was really hoping this thread didn't go in this direction but I was certain that someone would question marriage in general. I know I have and still do! I also know that I am now going to have to publicly talk about how I feel about it and I really didn't want to do that. I know I don't have to but I feel like I want to. Damn you, Owen!

I am petrified of becoming a divorce statistic, it frightens me to death and whilst I don't think my marriage will be full of passionate love all the time, I am going to make damn sure that I try my hardest for it to be MOST of the time. Yes, I agree that marriage is a joke for many people that get married these days (visas, because they're frightened they won't find anyone else, because they want a baby, because they feel they should) but I am getting married because I really want to be Adam's wife. I can't WAIT in fact

Wish us luck, I am sure we'll need it!

I agree with you totally...I have the same worries and thoughts...marriage takes so much work and comprimise..and it's almost like a living, breathing entity that you have to nurture on a daily basis..

Good luck to you and your fiance..I hope you guys have a beautiful wedding and an amazing life together...!!

lol...sorry I crapped on your thread, but atleast I did make an attempt to help, no? I'll keep my opinions of marriage for other places now

I can relate to the process of planning them. The process is similar to the whole nightclub thing except you have to take different things/people into consideration...infact, that aspect of weddings appeals to me and is pretty fun. I just wouldn't want my name on the invite

I'm sure if you're doing it for the right reasons and both of you have the same goals, it'll work out just fine.
