When i shave yes.... but since i stopped shaving, i am going to start going to the barber.

In the summer I do, I just get the machine and throw a #1 all around. Now I'm letting my hair grow again and eventually when it's long enough I'm gonna have to hit up a salon to style it.

Well I pay $25 to get my hair cut, so what do you have to say about that?

Recognise that the cost of services in different countries is not necessarily going to be comparable. I have had the same hair style for about a decade now. My hair dresser is a local knock-about. $15-20 is probably the cheapest male cut you can get here.

I have a mate who used to pay $95 to get his hair cut at Toni & Guy, and it look(ed)s like SHIT. We used to give him no end of shit about it, to which he'd hilariously say "but it comes with a free meal!". He used to literally sit there and eat bacon, eggs and toast after his haircut. A fucking expensive meal if you ask me.

As I recall you're Australian so maybe your prices aren't comparable with ours, but I know how much things like a meal or an album cost in the US, and unless a haircut is regarded with disproportionate value as a service by American society then $15 still seems very steep to me. My brother pays �15 for his haircut and I think he's being ripped off too.

I did used to pay around �10 for a haircut but, as you touch upon, the price of a haircut doesn't guarentee quality. I usually get mine cut for �3 on a stall at the market and it looks just as good as when I've paid three times that much. Since I usually get it cut every 6-8 weeks, I save �104 a year compared to someone who pays �15 a pop.

�15 = $25 American.

$15 American = $22 AU.

$15 is a pretty normal price for a haircut in the U.S. Some places go down to $12 or so, which is about $17.5 AU.

Canadian and American dollars are pretty comparable, with Canadian being worth slightly less.

i buzz my hair with a #1 every 2 weeks. only takes like 15 minutes plus a quick shower, it's so worth it

I don't think everything here is automatically only 60% as expensive as in the US just because the � is worth more. In my experience things cost relatively similar amounts in each country. Besides, even assuming that every price translated according to the exchange rate, $15 = �9, which is still three times as much as I pay for a haircut.

Been cutting it myself since 2004, I have curly hair (much like Lira's) so if I fuck up no one can tell. Just more curly hair to cover it up.

Maybe. I have never been to the UK, so I have no practical experience with exchange rates...

I don't think I've seen any haircut place here charge less than $9 or $10. The one I go to charges $14, if I remember right (haven't gone in a while).

$40 haircut.
