William Orbit - Barber's Adagio For Strings <---from the movie 'Platoon'
Jens - Psycho Strings <---from the movie 'Psycho'

Ok so I broke the rule since this is a tv theme rather than a movie theme, but it's great a track:
24 - The Longest Day (Armin Van Buuren Remix) <---from the tv show '24'

Ah....just remembered.

Tiesto remixed The Pirates Of the Caribbean theme.

I actually liked it as well

Anastasia vs Dumonde - Fly With Me uses the theme from The Last Of The Mohicans.

Liquid Sun - The Begining uses The Force Theme from Star Wars.

The music from Traffic seems to be entirely based on 'It will Be' by Jakatta. Great soundtrack though.

My nomination would be UNKLE - In a state / god moving over the face of the water. UNKLE's take on the classic Moby ambient track. Which was used in the end scene from Heat and IMO became the best mix of music and film ever. Timeless. I want a poster of that end scene where Pacino is facing away from the camera holding hands with De Niro as he dies.

Great thread

I've got another one:-

Gigolo - Al Paradis

Not sure where the sample is from though

I doubt it. Jakatta's 'It Will Be' more likely bases on Martinez' score as it was made nearly 3 years after the movie.

UNKLE's 11-minute mashup of 'In A State' and 'God Moves Over the Face of the Waters' is good but at times also not so good.. i think i still prefer the original. I agree with the great fitting for the scene in Heat tho.

I was unaware of the dates. Just noticed it when I watched he film. The lead melody from 'it will be' and the chord progressions are exactly the same as in the film.

EDIT - And I agree Moby's original is still the best version.

Cosmic Baby - A Tribute To Blade Runner (Part 1 / Part 2)

No worries. Don't have the Jakatta album so i can't say whether there are any credits for Cliff Martinez or Traffic.

Jakatta samples other movies on some tracks on the album too so it's not surprising if he does sample Traffic. 'My Vision' samples the score of Shawshank Redemption and 'American Dream' samples the score of American Beauty.

Ooooo!! That reminds me. Future sound of london - My Kingdom. Samples 'Rachels theme' from Bladerunner.

There are four parts. The version I'm on about is off the dead cities album and I assume is part 1 as it is just called 'My Kingdom'.

Part 4 is on Hybrids Y4K and also faetures the sample.

It's good, yes. Personally, I think Paris & Sharp - Aphrodite (Tarrentella: Redanka Mix) does a better job of using that sample, though.

Oh, and

War Of The Worlds - Eve Of The War (Tilt remix)

Epic EM Parks & Wilson used this in (09-04-2000)

another one using a melody from a spaghetti western movie 'For A Few Dollars More' (i think):
Voyager One - Dream State [1998]
