I have the same problem. I went to bed last night at 1AM, woke up at 12.30PM. I had to force myself to wake up, otherwise, I'de stay in bed into the mid afternoon.

lol, well, on school days (3 days a week), I wake up at 7AM, but I still go to sleep at 1-2AM. So it's not all peaches and cream...

fuck i get up at 450am EVERY day. lol. well, ok, not the weekends (those are saved for drinking time); but the M-F week, yeah, 450am. clas starts at 0600 and ends at 1500. granted it aint all bad ; its still fucking early as hell

Did I mention, I come back home at 11AM, go back to sleep, wake up again at 1-2PM, and go back to school?

If I didn't have to worry about waking up, I'de go to sleep at 4-5AM, wake up in the early afternoon. I'm a creature of the night...

Bleh, it's certainly a Brazilian thing. Whenever I get there on time, I read the first 10 minutes of the lecture to just 5~6 students =/

I often wake up tired, but I never have trouble getting out of bed, since I am used to waking up tired and I can only sleep about eight hours a night.

Posted by lcid on Oct-31-2008 01:08:

i haven't slept in my own bed in over 2 weeks and i'm at least 10 minutes late for work every day because i just loathe waking up.

doesn't matter what time i go to bed... i never feel like i get enough sleep.

i miss college

@OP - you're sleeping too much imo, anything >8 hours (unless you're sick) makes me feel exhausted all day. if you keep a regular schedule you'll end up waking before your alarm even goes off, mine is set at 3:15 every day, and i set my clock five minutes faster than reality (for some reason it always fools me in the morning and i think i'm running late)

Yikes, I had to wake up at 6:30 to get things done this morning. I woke up at 6:30. Finally got out of bed at around 9:30 after repeatedly going back to sleep and waking up. The thing is I went to sleep at at maybe 9 last night.

This is beginning to be more then problematic because I wake up feeling tired. I start waking up towards the afternoon, really. I have a feeling that my sleep cycle has shifted to waking up later and sleeping later, but no matter how hard I try to reset it, I can't. Not like before. This is what it's like to be an old person, I guess. Sucks.

yeah responsibilities are cool, try it out.

A lot of people suffer from this at this time of the year, as the daylight hours are much shorter, thus your body's natural waking-up process ("oh, sunlight! Active-time!") gets buggered in the process. However, if you have a proper deep sleep for a reasonable time (6-8 hours), you should be able to wake up fine.

Also, try a 5-htp for the night and try to avoid caffeine throughout the day (a shot in the morning doesn't hurt), as too much will make you wired when you sleep, making for a very restless rest.

The older i get the easier it is to wake up in the morning.

Also, the easier it is to suddenly die for no fucking reason.

I forgot to mention that I always wake up at at like 2-3 am after extremely vivid dreams for a period of 20 minutes or so before going back to sleep. Then I wake up for real a few hours. Then I get up out of bed anywhere from half an hour to a few hours later. Terrible.

Can't wait to see what the doctor says about all this. I'm thinking I might need to see a specialist.

Jeez, I wish it was still dark earlier here. I wake up when the sun gets up a bit. But its been rising early (4:30am) here and I wake up then and get up not long after. Guess I'm used to getting up and starting work pretty early too.
