I know that feeling well (though never while at uni).

I used to have an audit that took place at the end of Nov and ran into abt the 3rd week of December every year!

Since the audit was in Barrie, we'd often just be staying over 3-4 days a week, and/or working long days (out of Cwood by 7:30 to be at client's for 8:30am; and then working till 6-8pm at the client's place of business).

Anyways, between not being at home for several days a week, and being very over-tired and worn out from the audit in general, it just never "felt" like Christmas time to me. I couldnt enjoy it.

So glad now that I've been off that audit for last several years.

I need to properly "experience" Christmas time. Best time of the year. Easy.

I just hope I'm in Canada (or at least Ontario) this Christmas... I don't think I could do it without snow

I could definitely do Christmas if I was on a sunny beach, surrounded by bunch of nubile women

I spent Xmas in Hawaii 2 years ago.

It was nice, but it honestly felt weird.

They had santa's dancing around in shorts and a t-shirt and stuff like that.

Snow > Sand for Xmas.

^ ^ ^ Last year on the 9th of Dec I went away to Cuba for vacation. Came back on teh 16th.

I didnt even like that time (and it wasnt even OVER CHRISTMAS).

Being away form teh cold and the snow during "Christmas time" felt inherently wrong to me.

I dont wanan see Xmas trees and santa hats adn other xmas shit when its f*cking 25-35 degrees out. doestn feel right.

felt like i was betraying xmas (lol)

and when i came back, felt like id missed so much of this time of hte year (even though it was only a week... but still had massively runnign around to do the weekend before... and obviously the week leading up to me leaving i couldnt focus on ANYTHING xmas bc was so caught up in the OMGZ IM GOING TO CUBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAA excitment!)

Then came back, and BAM! its just a week till xmas, have 1 weekend left to finish my shopping...

Anyways, for me, ive realized, in the month of december, i truly have no desire to be anywhere else than HOME, here in Ontario!

IMO the after Christmas deals are just going to be amazing. Giant LCD Tv anybody?

Done.

Only thing I like about Christmas is the family boozefest that ensues + hanging with friends doing the same to get through the crappy weather. (Although today was AMAZING.)

You should have left the roof as it was and just punched holes into the dents so you could slide the lights through. That would have been awesome.

That's one sad advantage to having most of your family live abroad and far away. You don't have to worry about spending money on X-mas gifts for them - just the Holiday (Season's Greetings) cards. I think that overall I'd still prefer to have my grandparents and my cousins closer-by though...
