You can get to a list of all the applications you've blocked. I've blocked something like 180 so far. It's rather ridiculous!

LOL..my hotmail account is as good as a mailbox just for him and all that hype mail

but what i was referring to is things like TIL this friday where a certain someone had everything ditto to urs and posted it later instead of just asking to make him/her the admin and just forwarding that same invite to those not already on the list...ugh...so annoying...

I agree 100%

Facebook has made a lot of promoters lazy, and made a lot of promoters out of people that aren't promoters.

Maybe now we'll take it back old school and hosts will have to actually go out and talk to people FACE TO FACE... make phone calls...

exactly... this will also make the invites more relevant and thoughtful, no one wants to be blocked ha ha

haha...

I just blocked you all!!

Word.

I rarely do Facebook invites unless it's a big event. Clubs were busy early this decade without facebook and facebook invite repsonses aren't a proper gauge of how well or poorly an event is going to be.

I actually use "custom lists" when inviting friends to events. out of of my 1700 friends on fb only about 1000 get invites from me.

So how do I get myself on the 'custom lists' without offending my friends?

so freaking true!

Posted by Frenchie on Nov-06-2008 20:25:

I think there was something wrong with Facebook itself because I'd get the same invite by the same person 4-5 times about 10 minutes apart or less. I don't think it was the doing of the "promoter" themselves.

I've never noticed that. Usually, once a person has been invited to an event listing, they can no longre be invited...even if a mutual friend tries to "re-invite" you. 1 invite per person, per listing.

if yer getting multiple invites to the same event, it's usually another peron who created a new listing.

I've never noticed it to fuck up and blast several invites on it's own.

Nice. Very glad to learn this feature is added (finally!)

Dunno

um this feature has been there since the old facebook... haha

Are you drunk or is your typing always this bad?

it's pretty tricky to type, watch softcore porn in foreign languages, read sub-titles and jerk off at the same time...it's also possible I was drinking.

I'm pretty sure that it was only there for applications, and not events.

But I could be wrong.

How to make them? Or how to get on one?

To make them, click FRIENDS up top on the menu bar, then the main FRIENDS page shows up, and on the left hand side it's have a button called MAKE NEW LIST

To get off a list? Hope that your friend is using them and ask to be taken off it...

You are right, the two got confused.

Yeah... bad typo, i did mean how to get off of a list.

I also do get the same invites from at least 3 promoters. As I live 1hr north of Toronto, I am selective of the nights I come down, and don't go out every weekend like many, so for me I find the invites and updates are too frequent, and they keep coming after I click 'not attending'.

For me, I prefer to use the events section and view the friend's events list http://www.facebook.com/events.php?friends=1 , and I can easily see who is attending what party, and helps me decide where to go when I have some free time to have fun.

I'm going to start requesting to be removed from mailing lists in hopes that they are. I have the same problem as a lot of people here who receive multiple event invites for the same event from various promoters each trying to pad their respective guestlists.. or simply use the 'ignore all invites from this person' feature. woohoo event spam free

I wanted to bump this thread with the exact same thing.

Well, with a little bit of a fix.

Ya I noticed it when I started getting invites from people I blocked invites from. At least they still have the "block this application feature"...though I'm still getting tons of notifications that say "So and So wants you to write on their wedding wall" blah blah blah
