Not quite, but I still really enjoyed this. The mixing was nice and the track selection quite different to what I'd listen to when left to my own devices. Enjoyed getting away from the 4/4 stuff a little bit, it's not something I do too regularly.

Thanks. I really enjoy mixing breaks myself, as much as I enjoy listening to them. I was a little bored of four on the floor when I started this, and most of the new stuff I've enjoyed recently has been breakbeat.

I somehow missed this earlier - grabbing now.

I think I've mentioned this before in threads for your other mixes, but I'm too young to remember most of the tracks you select, and I feel you've introduced me to a whole realm of music that I otherwise probably would not have discovered, and which I can now say I really really like. This mix will get many repeat listens.

Thanks. Although I went for the Northern Exposure attitude of selecting good tracks from whenever and wherever, I actually think this one is fairly contemporary. If you go through each track and look at its age:

Well that genuinely surprises me, as a lot of that must have simply slipped below my radar. My comment stands for your earlier sets though.

Uber-bumped because I just had an epic 1am run home through the transition between Run To The Light and Heaven Scent. Hit the breakdown just as a came to a stop outside my door.

While it's flawed, I honestly believe this is the best set I've ever made. The tracks fell together so well, BPM, harmony, flow, everything, and I feel this was some of my best mixing in terms of being inventive and fitting the big picture - mixing into a trance breakdown to go from breaks to 4/4, pitching tracks way up to sound very different, the Heaven Scent mash-up... I also think this was the best I ever did in bringing together tracks from some pretty different eras, styles and scenes so they all sounded totally cohesive when played together.

My main regret, aside from some minor technical glitches, is that I stopped it where I did. This was originally envisaged as a two hour set - in fact it was supposed to be my own fictional Essential Mix. I sort of chickened out after Heaven Scent, I didn't really have the tracks to keep taking it higher and the Blue Amazon track was a hasty finale. I've often toyed with revisiting it and expanding it into the full two hours it should have been. Then I think that's too George Lucas and I should leave this mix as a moment in time.
