:ugh: When did I say ASOT = all trance ?? He was the one that made that basically made that generalization

i could only choose 3 songs i haven't listened to any episodes and don't even know those most of those tracks, apart from new remixes and stuff like pjanoo which everybody knows. hmmm.

is this every track that was played on the radio show this year so far?

Hilarious. And quite possibly VERY accurate. My vote for #1 will probably go to Sunlounger - Lost.

Maybe you're just slow. That many different labals are represented in his radio show.

all of which are run by himself or his close friends. Why do you think people say there is no variety nowadays?

Take off your tinfoil hat. That's not true. Out of the dozens of labels that are represented there is bound to be some overlap with his friends or whatever. He plays whatever he finds and whatever is sent to him. He's probably played a track from virtually every trance label under the sun.

Hope - Nick Warren's label
Armind - Armin's label
Vandit - PvD's label
Cloud 9 - MoS-like mega-label; distributes a lot of ASOT stuff
Be Yourself - Former ID&T; handles distribution for Rank 1 and Marco V projects
Flashover - Corsten's label
Enhanced - Recently independent from Monster Tunes; not too many large names here, Carl B perhaps the most noticeable
Euphonic - Kyau & Albert's label
A State Of Trance - Armin's label
Red Force - new digital label
Anjunabeats - A&B's label

So, out of all those, there's only two labels that seem to be reaching beyond his immediate musical circle (three if you want to stretch with Warren). Good to see he's exposing all the ASOT fans to such a diverse collection of unknown trance.

Go buy yourself a clue kiddo

"Elektra" is the only jam I didn't get sick of.

Adore that tune.

"Chinese Theater" didn't get much hype and that's another one of my fav tracks of the year.

Not sure if it's on the list because I haven't checked out the voting

So I pick one ASOT and you do the research to prove nothing.

And I guess you never stopped to think that the majority of those labels gobble up all the sweet tracks. So let me get this straight, if he plays a bunch of tracks from tiny labels, regardless of how the actual track sounds, there is no complaint? And since when does unknown trance = good? The majority of unknown trance from some tiny label sucks. Either way, even if all he did was play a bunch of unknown trance it would turn into "epic pop trance" anyway. Stop being a tool.

OK BRO WILL DO

Armin should def play strictly underground tracks never heard outside of a basement just like Desyn does, DEF!

Posted by MeLLyMeL on Nov-18-2008 03:53:

Stop the bitching.

Yearly recap is always 95% vocal trance because Armin fans aren't always the brightest and need song lyrics to remind them of certain tunes!

No. If he plays a bunch of tracks that actually sound good, regardless of the label, there is no complaint.

Sweet, here is when we argue what tracks sound good and which don't All while you haven't heard an asot in years, bravo

I thought about it, but quickly realized that such a thought is bupkis.

I dunno why but i voted too...

god, why do i keep doing this every year, when I know that the vocal cheese will make up most of the 20 tunes?

I actually try and catch an episode once a month. That's all you really need to hear the couple decent tracks he'll play every now and then. I'm not here to shit on Armin, he's a class guy from all accounts and I still like him. I just had to LOL when I saw that list. It's like asking someone who has never been outside of the place he/she was born, raised and lived his/her whole life where the best place to live is. The answer he/she will give you is almost certainly not going to be an educated answer.
