Posted by UmmiE on Dec-01-2008 15:01:

So happy to see no snow or slush on the roads, but last night around 11:45pm here in Brampton there was a lot of slushie ice on the roads props to those salt trucks to clear everything by morning I saw couple of them clearing the slush on hurontario.....Good job guys.

Posted by StereoPrincess on Dec-01-2008 15:07:

yup. looks like we dodged a bullet!

Posted by Orko on Dec-01-2008 15:13:

Toronto almost always does. Sometimes when I look at the radar, a storm actually goes around the city, it is just amazing to see. A giant cloud coming for TO, then vanish, nothing over the city, but everything around it is covered. Next time I see it, ill take screen shot and post.

I was really hoping for some snow. All this dark crappy weather is depressing. At least snow makes things look a little nicer.

The stupid news was going on all day yesterday about the impending doom, that is a snow storm. Everybody coming into the city should get a card that reads: "This is Canada, it snows, get used to it".

so gehy

I was expecting to wake up to epic whiteness...but we barely got another inch, all the roads are clear, and it's relatively mild out. It was snowing sideways when I left work at 11pm last night...guess it turned to rain while I was sleeping.

Posted by She_Fitz on Dec-01-2008 16:59:

Kitchener got a decent amount.. enough to shovel this morning but not an epic amount.

It is going to be one long ass winter.

i actually got to work in less time than it usually takes me! guess people are trying to stay off the roads cuz of the snow which means less traffic....coming home tonight @ rush hour however, will be a different story im assuming...

One thing in favour snow storms... I love the omnipresent silence that comes along with them.

MAJOR WINTER STORM WITH HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW. THIS IS A WARNING THAT DANGEROUS WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN THESE REGIONS. MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS..LISTEN FOR UPDATED STATEMENTS.

SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW HAS NOW OVERSPREAD MOST OF THE WARNED AREA. A GENERAL SNOWFALL OF 15 TO 20 CENTIMETRES IS LIKELY ACROSS THE DISTRICT BY THIS EVENING. WINDSOR HAD ALREADY REPORTED 15 CENTIMETRES AS OF 10 AM. NORTHEAST WINDS OF 40 KM/H GUSTING TO 60 WILL GIVE FREQUENT WHITEOUT CONDITIONS IN BLOWING SNOW. CONDITIONS WILL BE ESPECIALLY SEVERE NEAR THE SHORES OF THE LOWER LAKES WHERE WINDS GUSTING TO 80 KM/H ARE EXPECTED. FURTHERMORE EMBEDDED SNOWSQUALLS OFF LAKE ONTARIO INTO PORTIONS OF THE OAKVILLE BURLINGTON AND HAMILTON AREAS WILL LIKELY RESULT IN A FEW LOCAL TOTALS OF 30 CENTIMETRES. SNOW WILL TAPER OFF OVER SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO THIS AFTERNOON AND OVER THE REMAINING REGIONS EARLY THIS EVENING.

I think the worst is the wind that is blowing around. I had the most horrible walk into work!

We shut our place down, and it seems every other business in town did that too. The roads are just absolutely packed with cars everywhere.

But alriiiiiiight, early start to the weekend.

Posted by Aleks_B on Dec-19-2008 18:05:

go team stay at home!

Waiting for work to close early as in the past... it is not looking very hopeful. What a shitty Friday...

I was very happy to get out of work early today. They closed all the branches in the region at 2pm.

The drive home wasn't too bad though. I didn't get stuck until my parking lot
