almost half of all 20-24 year olds in the US have at least HPV, and we're only talking about 1 STI here. pretty staggering numbers but not surprising when you consider the casual attitude many people in Western society have toward sex in this day and age.

You dont need to go into someones past to learn about STD risks.

Before sleeping with someone BOTH people should be tested.... just shows responsibility and respect.

You can get an STD even if youve slept with one person.... actually, even if you sleep with zero.

Yeah i think i have told the realy number to one of my ex's

I considered myself a slut when I was in college. Back then I felt I needed to keep a ratio of a lay per every year of age, so if I had 80 by the time I died at 80, I accomplished myself as a man. I matured since then of course.

btw in one of my "sexual relationship" groups I ran, we were playing a game based on polls (think: Family Feud). I took a question based on recent polls:

How many partners, at the age of 30, does one have to have, before people assume that they are promiscuous/slutty/etc...?

The poll answered 30. This is based in the fact that people had NO info about the person (whether it was relationship-oriented, time frames, date they lost their virginity, etc.....)

The number really has nothing to do with it. You can be a virgin and be a slut. It happens.

I don't think it's about how many but rather your mindframe ....someone can just be a horny chick and sleep with 50 people...all with consenting adults..using protection etc...just cuz they love sex and wanna have a good time.....or..

you could be a chick who has sex with fifty dudes...and uses sex as a means to a relationship...thinks that once she gives it up, the guy will like her more or want her more..and then freaks out when it doesn't turn out how she wanted it to..

to me the latter is more of a slut...

Actually, they exist! A friend of mine met a virgin in her late 20s (i know, unreal) - and now they're married. They also seem to travel in groups since her best friend is/(was?) also a virgin. It was like a badge of honour or something - I found it kind of silly but hey, to each their own.
