What's Lawler playing nowadays? Last mix I heard from him was his "Back To House" promo which is almost a year old now.

no way...listen to that ready mix sessions mix he just released not too long ago....pretty rippin' (and I dare to say it) tribal influenced techno. It's definately not slow, and it's definately not tech house.

Lawler right now sounds like 2002 Lawler.

I heard the same thing for when he played at TiL recently....fuck if I only would've known in advance!!

Let's hope he stays that way

yeah I stopped dl'ing his shit this summer. I've been listening to 2004 lawler instead to get my fix. I gave up on him after Viva sky bar.

I'm Dl'ing ready mix sessions now. Tribal influenced techno you say.... hhhmmm this may change my mind for New Years. we'll see.

I loved the old school Lawler, but I am so off him now. I'll have to say though, his Wasted promo mix from 2006 is my fave Lawler mix.

Just downloaded part 1 and giving it a listen, that track list is fucking good!!!

EDIT: listening to DJ Wady & Patrick M - The Hulk (Lawler's idiosyncratic Mic)
LOVE THIS REMIX!!! Original is fucking sik too but i could tell it had lawler's touch on it!

Yes, yes, and yes. That's almost Lights Out 2 to a T.

What's the track with the "Shakedown - At Night" vocals laced over it? I once knew but I forgot and I can't recall for the life of me.

Such a classic.

PS. Part 1 of that RMS set is pretty boring lol. Standard issue tribal fodder with a little bit of cliche tech house here and there. The one latin influenced song was fun, but the rest of the set was meh imo.

Hopefully part 2 is better.

I was going to wait until I heard the whole set to review it.

But I agree with you on pt.1

definitely didn't change my plans for New Years!~

Posted by MissK on Dec-04-2008 23:53:

Let me rephrase:

I think I had to be in the mood to hear RMS. I am really feeling it right now. Definitely appreciating these beats.

But I still think the majority of the first part is really slow, and not my favourite club material.

Maskio - Human Jungle is sure to get the crowd freakin'

This set is abosolutlely sik. Oh wait.

The drums just kicked back in again (d...d..dd.ddd..d.... dance..)

Takes me back to the first time I saw Lawler with the low ceiling, faint red lights of System in '04 (funny that considering this is the year the set is from)... with a slight hint of Skybar 2005.

I have a huge smile right now.

Wow. Love it. Thank you.

Me too...

I'll be the first to say that after a handful of years I've only listened to a fraction of the music that most on this site have, so I might not have the library of sets to compare this too but I really can't turn it off. It has me driving the exact speed limit just so I can hear more it before I go to bed.

So glad you posted and I actually downloaded it.

Love hearing those lyrics in a set! Is that the same remix Vibe played in his older radio show sets that had a very dreamy, sexy sound to it?

THANKS BUCK FOR THE LAWLER GOODNESS!!!

That's not it. I used to think it was as well, but it's something else.

Joe Drust, where the hell are you? I know he has the track too...

Posted by Special K on Dec-07-2008 15:56:

Interview with Lawler from several yrs back:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8J-2wRNdTOI&NR=1

I was lucky enough to catch him for a lengendary 8 hr set at Aria in May 2003:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHN5...feature=related

My 1st night in Ibiza in Aug 2001 was Lawler w/ Sasha at Space. Back then he was known as the "King of Tribal".

I've done so many roadtrips revolving around this guy in my life, it's not even funny....Nov 03 at Aria with Acquaviva, Derrick Carter (met my best friend at that night!).....wmc/State 2005...Sundance Festival in Mtl at Beach Club with Lawler/Tenaglia in July 2006....July 1st 2005 at Stereo...the Guv last two July 1sts....NYE last yr in Mtl at Bell Centre. He never dissapointed me !
