i went from a work environment where no one spoke and every level of management was afraid of each other so nothing got accomplished to one where its open lines of communication and its emphatically stressed that no question is too small or too big and everyone has an open door policy. my job now, even though i work more hours - i am not the least stressed out, and actually enjoy and have a lot of ownership for what i do.

you mean like this?

I find that this is an excellent system for minimizing stress. At least my own stress.

Yo, Digi? Ya, um... me and my fellow employees are were talking and we're feeling a little stressed out. So we'd like to offer some creative input into the way we run things around here... Uh, Jenny in sales thinks we should get a coffee maker for the lunch room instead of the vending machine, she says that finding change can be very stressful sometimes. Ummmm, *pages rustling* Bob, over in customer service wants 5 minute breaks every hour because he says a regular smoke helps him deal with the stress. Er, my kid has a soccer game at 5:30 and, as you know, we don't end our work-day until 6, I was hoping you could shave an hour off our day so I can take my kid to soccer, it's REALLY stressful having to find someone to drive him every week. So like, we think that these changes would totally ease our stress levels and make us way more productive... what do you think?

...not surprised.

Canadians definitely aren't the most happy people at work. Although we're no where near the worst!!

what about poor Georgia, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan...
