Are you fucking kidding? One does not have to be a "perfect angel" to know that stealing is a fucking scuzzy thing to do. God, as if you're actually defending/justifying it.

Click on OPTIONS (the little wrench looking icon) and scroll to OWNER. You should see all the owners information if they were smart enough to put it in there.

Otherwise, go to forums.crackberry.com and read up on how to unlock etc

Posted by all_earz on Dec-09-2008 19:13:

dood just keep and unlock the phone. be lucky that it's not a CDMA network phone, where they keep it locked until it's marked as "found"

But yes, there are tons of stuff around there!

Oh please do share... perhaps a megaupload or a yousendit... I've been trying to find it, but like you said, its very existance seems erased without a trace

The only reason I didn't bother with this one was because it was american and not even local america like Detroit, but Chicago. And I don't plan on being stateside for a while to take back to the Cingular store. But i'll check the contacts again.

^5 on checking the contacts again.

On another note, when you find out how to unlock the phone let me know. I want to unlock a rogers phone if I get one.

There's a place in Windsor that does it now that just opened. My dad was telling me about it. You can buy cheap unlocked phones there too. I'll ask my dad.

Great thanks

/Hijack

You going to see Crystal Method or Sydney Blu?

/end hijack

Posted by Mach X on Dec-10-2008 04:07:

Factory Direct on Dougal sell's already unlocked refurbed phones.

Cro? What phone you want to unlock? I know how to do most...

And i'm going to Crystal Method, but skipping Blu

PHONE UPDATE : No home number, called the recent number, left message, no answer or callback so far

If no one calls me back by week's end, I got a new blackberry pearl. I also don't see how anyone is calling me a thief. I didn't walk up to him and pickpocket him, nor did I find it after he left and chose not to chase him and return it. I didn't go into his hotel room while he was not there and lift it. It was lost, it was found (by someone else), we tried to locate the owner with no luck, it was given to me...

If anyone could post that software, that would be great thanks!

Posted by Dr. Z on Dec-10-2008 04:26:

You can only unlock it by getting an unlock code from the Network Provider. There is no software.

That's the store I was thinking of.

Dunno about either event...we'll see. I have to get a bunch of work done on my thesis before I go to Florida.

Sandeep...that's fair. You did your best. ^5 to you!

Whats depressing is that you place so much value on a piece of plastic and some circuitry.

Posted by r5a on Dec-10-2008 07:43:

Blackberrys shit is pretty standard bro.

What you have on there is probabaly the only shit you'll get. You can go to the blackberry.com site to get the latest version for free but it will only give you some bug fixes and shit, about it really.

You can get some themes but most are pretty garbage.
Applications there's tons you just have google for them.

Actually maybe you should read the thread before posting. Only one person called him a thief. Pretty much everyone else said that he should make an effort to find the true owner before keeping it for himself. Which is what he's doing (doing).

HAHAHA! So I guess the Pearl is goign back to the AT&T store next time i'm in the states (no one ever called me back BTW)...

Work just landed Blackberry as a client and we all get a Blackberry for free now w00t w00t! They figure we need to have one in order to support it! Storm or Bold?! Played with Storm all day, fancy, flashy, cool... but the typing is a bitch, so is web navigation. click to select is cool, get's some getting used to if you're used to the tap to select methods of other touchscreens. Maybe I need more time to play around with it. But I think Bold or the new Curve-Javelin is going to win for my choice!

shit if that's the case then new bold for me...i'll be particularly anal about it now that you mentioned this, thanks!

ps. don't send the pearl to AT&T, give it to me!

Depends who your employer has as their mobile provider... If it's Rogers, your choice is a Bold or Curve 8900, if it's Bell or Telus, then you'll be enjoying a Storm or some other lowly Blackberry.

Posted by mickmack on Dec-15-2008 23:46:

i wouldn't take it back to the store. i can tell you from working in cellular sales for 8 years that there are very few associates that will actually try and track down that customer. most will keep it for themselves or a friend of theirs.

I can get the unlocked GSM Storms meant for Vodofone in the UK That's what I was playing with today, unlocked Vodofone branded unlocked with a Roger's SIM on a Data Only plan. But I was VERY VERY impressed with the Javelin, the tits! Larger screen than the bold, the only real difference is the Bold is 3G...

I was under this assumption to in the begining, I worked for Rogers for 4 years, hence my reluctance to return it to the store. Maybe i'll still keep the Pearl, I guess now I could get the unlock codes and firmware with Blackberry!
