i just had a deep thought!
ok heres a good cultural difference. Asians, but ill say Japanese in particular because I have a lot of experience in that area, have a "success" model. Get good grades, get a good job, get a lot of money, get a good wife, get good kids. Everything is built up to make you successful, and a beautiful wife means you are more successful, or at least successful in that area. All facets of life support the success of yourself (this is for men, I have no idea what japanese women have for goals).
Then there are people like me. I live on the "love" model. Everything is to support the love. Ill work and get some cash if I need it to continue a love-a girl, rock climbing, hiking. But if I end up living like a bum on some beach with only a surf board, my girl friend, and a sunset, ill die a happy man.
I wouldnt be compatible with a success driven person, and a lot of japanese people fall into that category. Not ALL mind you, but it is a definite trend in the culture, and japanese only allow other japanese into that culture...so do you see what im saying?

meh
its all good

Well, i am asian and am naturally drawn towards "whites" not to categorise tho, i guess i spend more time around white guys and gurls, oh well race shouldn't be a factor in relationships.
From what I see skin colour goes hand in hand with ethnic culture. When you see ppl of the same race hanging out with each other it's because they share the same culture and can easily relate to each other.
Some ppl might think that this is racism since ppl only hang around their own race and no one else.

95% of the time I get attracted to white girls. Not very often am I attracted to black girls (no disrespect), but I just find white girls more attractive.
Black girls that I would bang;
Anshanti
Mariah Carey
i don't really care as long as the girls look good...

Its not raceits your environment..
Its not raceits your environment..
Heres my situation..
As a child, I grew up with latinos and blacks and was very close to them even though my parents were the typical prejudice parents (Im asian)..so even though I was taunted as a child in regards to hanging with the right people, I was color blind and didnt give a fuck what my parents said..i was more rebellious as a child..hahah.
Then my parents got richer and we moved to a predominantly white neighborhood where I hung out with white people, mainly throughout highschool..and my parents liked that better even though they had their prejudices against whities (thats what my parents called white people)..
Then I moved away and went to college and thats when I started to hang out with Asians. I really did not expect to hang out with Asians since a lot of asian girls thought I was a snob. And b/c I was asian, many of the white girls just assumed that I only hung out with Asians..so now, I hang out with mostly asians although on occasion, I will encounter some open minded non-asian people that are willing to hang out with me! I love it when that happens! Its rare though!
So whats my point you ask? Well I have hung out with all races and I would date them all and I havebut now, I would only date Asians because I feel obligated to.
I either get disowned by my parents (which would totally destroy me) for dating outside of my race or I do what I want and accept the fact that I will be treated like an outcast in my familyso people ask me so you only date Asians? and I tell them I have to..but I tell them that I dont mind the fact that I have to date Asians b/c my parents happiness means the world to me even though they are ignorant..so I am willing to go by their standards and accept them as my own..
I grew up willing to date all races and I find myself attracted to all races but when it comes down to getting serious, the image of my parents pop in my head and I realize that I have to stick to my own b/c of my environment..hahaa..theyre like the devil I tell yah! So my biggest fear would be falling in love with a non asian guy..HAHAHAH..damn..what a girl to do
this is same with my parents. my dad is chinese and my mom is half chinese, they only want me to marry a chinese guy. up until recently they wanted me to date asians only but i went out with a white guy and i guess they sorta realized that they cant dictate me what to do. my brother married a white girl and my parents were devastated. i dont care what they think tho, im dating whomever i want, asian, black, white, latino, whatever. my parents cant tell me whats best for me, only i know whats best for me.
i see your point trancegirl but you also have to realize that your own happiness is at stake. i understand you when you say that you're forced to hang out with asian ppl, im in a similar situation, but when it comes to dating, i think id rather stay single forever than date/marry someone my parents are happy with but im not even attracted to.
Asian girls catch my attention more.. Must be the eyes and shapes of their faces. I'm about to tutor this asian girl in English. This is not going to be fun...or it could be. LOL
I don't really have a preference, just whichever girl can catch my attention. As for stereotypes.. my parents are the same. I just don't follow their rules..
It's funny that pirates were always going around searching for treasure, and they never realized that the real treasure was the fond memories they were creating.
