That's a really good feature.....havn't tried it yet..but i'm sure it'l make songs easier to id....
so the tracks that get id'ed will get posted in the 'unknown tracks'
section?? right?

For future updates..it would be nice to have a "back button"
so you can go back to hear a previous track in the main window.

also when you have the previous and current listed items.. it would be nice if those would link you to the forum page which the sound bits are listed on

and also.. some IDed trakcs are still inside the to be ided. I dont know how you would be able to get rid of that.. unless you want em there

just my 2 cents..

IT WORKS GREAT THO!

There is no back button, it's a live stream, so that's not possible.

The location of the button to click to browse the thread could be moved adjacent to the previous/current tunes... that's an idea.

...the tracks that are still being streamed that have been IDed will be gone soon - it's dependent on whether or not the thread is closed, I only update that info once I grab the new samples that have been sent up and re-encode em at the proper bit rate for streaming - hence the delay.

Read my post from Jul-22-2002 above.

Also, Real Player doesn't have any spyware - if you're not sure just run ad-aware after install.

I gayped in owe at one of these tunes.

p.s just ID'd one.

Question. If we here a tune we also want IDing, how do we go about finding out about it once its ID'd? email subscription maybe?

would make it much better imo

Posted by Tranced17 on Jan-05-2003 02:14:

the one that I ID'd was vengaboys - kiss (airscape remix) except for some reason I couldnt ID it.

Posted by Tranced17 on Jan-05-2003 02:14:

Great idea, swamper, you are a genius! And some of these tracks really need an ID. I love em!

Dancing Dude

I've got realplayer and I use it constantly.
Excuse my lack of technological knowledge- but what's spyware exactly?

Posted by rlfcycle on Apr-08-2003 11:41:

Very cool. Want some new tracks? Let me know.

Another helpful thing might be to have a back button in case we miss it. I just heard H2J - East & West, but didn't click in time to ID it.

Posted by Tranc3 on May-18-2003 10:03:

Spyware would be any piece of software that monitors what you do and sends the info back to whomever it's been programmed to send it. So for example, say someone writes a piece of spyware and bundles it with, say, KAZAA. Kazaa does NOT tell me that it's installing this piece of shit software in addition to their client. However, the software WILL monitor what sites I visit and send that information back to marketers and such. Oh and it also takes up MY processing power

Sorry but I hate spyware, I believe it to be unethical and should be illegal

If you click the button to ID the tune it will open a new window and stream the tune playing at the time of ID - if you meant for the one previous there is a link on that new screen to listen to open the window and play the previous track to verify it

Idea

So this is why all sample must be 24kbps. Will do that in the Future. Nice work Swamper!

Posted by Trancer85 on Nov-07-2003 21:34:

Help~
How do I cut an mp3 into a shorter length and how can Ilessen the quality to 24kbps??

I seem to be having a problem with the Java applet part of this lately. It used to work fine, but now it just says Waiting or Waiting For Server all the time for the track info, and doesn't let me go to the thread because it doesn't know which thread to go to. I'm using Win2K,IE 6. The RealPlayer stream works fine, so I don't think it has to do with that.

Thanks,
Kiragan
