srsly though, haven't they shot some scenes with Heath Ledger already and in the middle of the movie they replaced him with Will Smith and now the movie has entered post production?

can someone please confirm/deny?

Have they even finished filiming? Have they even finished production? Something like that could be possible (like the Lord of the Rings) if they had everything ready from the start.

The sequel to the Dark Knight doesn't even have a script. It's going to take them some time to write the script and do the production. They won't even start anything until the Oscars are over, because their focus right now is to make sure Ledger gets the Oscar for his Joker portrayal.

dude, he'd be wearing make-up the whole time; especially with the technology these days, i'm sure no one would notice.

how do you know that?! the script was already written from all the comic books and tv shows that we've had. i think the script was totally finalized and the movie has entered post-production by now. it's how the big movie companies hedge themselves against market and economic fluctuations.

Actually yes...Frank Miller confirmed they will be released within a year of eachother. They just dont have a specific month yet.

Oh and before you ask for proof I heard him say it in an interview

There is no way Will Smith could pull that off

agreed
it's just too far fetched.. they'd need someone with the same ethnicity at LEAST, nevermind complexion

.. and they probably won't be as good as the batman movies

Posted by I_Am_Vince on Dec-18-2008 18:28:

I highly doubt those rumours of Robin and Joker are true.

Batman star Christian Bale has declared he will quit the comic book movie franchise if producers ever decide to reintroduce the caped crusader's sidekick Robin.

Bale took on the role of the legendary action hero in 2005's Batman Begins and will be seen again in The Dark Knight, which is due for release later this month. However the actor is hoping that the character of Robin is not brought back into any of future Batman movies - because he will resign in protest.

He says, "If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I'll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work."

Rumours for the new Dark Night movie, set to be released in 2010:

Eddie Murphy as the Joker
Shia Labeouf as Robin

As a good new up and coming star, Shia should make a good Robin in this film but not so sure about Eddie as the Joker, not a huge fan of his. I am a huge fan of Batman movies, and Love the Dark Knight series. Just not sure where this will turn if this is who has been signed on.

Opions?

One online Source I found.

Wow, I heard a rumor about this sometime ago. I enjoyed Batman (1989) but the sequel, prequel, etc to follow throughout the 90's were terrible (IMO), and each release sucked worst than the one before. Christopher Nolan & David Goyer took Batman Begins & The Dark Night in the right direction. But Robin, and Eddy Murphy??? are you fucking serious? Is the direction WB intends to take the franchise?? Are we destined to see future movies full of two-bit side kicks??

Come now, the movie wasn't CRAP. Over-rated? I'll give you that, and they stretched the movie that extra 45 minutes that weren't needed. But 'crap'? That's a tad far-fetched.
