When I mastered beatmatching and EQing, I started trying to think outside the box.

3 deck mixes, layering, cuts, overlaying effected stuff, effects on one of the 3 channels playing, etc.

You can do ALOT. Now that I've mastered all that stuff, I'm starting to learn to scratch...

Oh yea, you could also get a Korg Kaossfader, those are fun (and it's only $200)

I also need to start recording my sets....

is why bedroom DJs think there is nothing else to learn.

Just as an fyi you don't need a computer to record a mix. People have been making mix tapes for ages.

I'm not trying to say I have perfected the art of DJing. I am just saying: I am fairly confident with beatmatching, phrasing, EQing, etc. and am wondering what the next thing I should be working on aside from trying to master the things I am already fairly confident with.

And what are you suggesting about recording without a computer? Please tell me your not talking about casette tapes....

The natural next step is to learn how to build up your sets.. Not just playin track after track.

Try to begin with good intro and move on to harder/faster tracks..
Learning building up your sets will increase your skills to be a god dj.

And then you can also learn mashing up with acapellas / a third cdj/vinyl.
