I was in a bookstore yesterday and saw that he's written a spy novel... anybody read it? It's supposed to be more or less comedic.

Posted by Renzo on Dec-24-2008 23:07:

Ah, The Gun Seller. I've yet to read.

Posted by iammesol on Dec-24-2008 23:38:

Yep, it was based off of a character he played in something British. He basically expanded his character into a whole novel full of adventures.

You should check it out, the show is pretty hysterical once you get used to it.

People watching house for the medical mysteries are completely missing the point It's about House being an ass to people in hilarious ways and the interaction between the characters, the medical cases are just there as a background and context.

+1

house is my idol rofl

Formulaic, yes.
Funny because House says all the things we'd like to but are too polite to say.

Seeing as Dexter is probably the best show of recent years, no.

House is enjoyable, but halfway through season 2 and the same thing over and over started to grate.

Well he's born in Oxford but their team has sucked for the last 15 years. I'd say he'd be more of a cricket fan, old chap.

Posted by Renzo on Feb-08-2009 18:25:

Oxford does suck.

If you guys are interested, check out old episodes of "A Bit of Fry and Laurie". Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, pretty funny show with hilarious "musical" stuff at the end of each episode (usually). Good fun!

The Office

I like the show as well, although it is formulaic. Hugh Laurie's acting is gold.

Autoimmune.

Posted by whiskers on Feb-09-2009 04:26:

he's too over the top.

also, i don't have a medical degree, but the whole show is the medical equivalent of beeping computers and flying windows in movies. MEH.

Posted by Taranis on Feb-09-2009 05:13:

My medical knowledge comes primarily from being raised by a doctor and reading too much wikipedia, and even I can tell that some of the medicine is complete BS. Just gotta switch off and enjoy it.
