The Keynote Remote app for iPhone is kinda interesting, but that's about it.

A macbook with a non-replaceable battery? Way to go Apple.

I know.

I've had 2 battery issues with my current mac, and same with my gf.

I definitely wouldn't want the 'geniuses' to be opening up my Macbook, and therefore would have to sent it in to get it fixed.

What a hassle, even though an 8 hour* battery life would be nice!

definitely getting this.

I emailed this vid to a few friends and the first reply I received was "maybe I'm getting old, but I'm not sure how I feel about this".

I lol'd.

Seriously though, a non user-replaceable laptop battery? What kind of dipshit thought of that?

Still the all-time classic apple product spoof.

It's the same thing as the Mac Air..or whatever the fuck its called.

No Disc Drive, no replaceable battery.

It's already bad enough that you can't buy 3rd party power supply/battery...now they are forcing you to send it to a technician to repair (unless of course you want to do it on your own at your own risk).

I love my Mac, but their battery/power supply has a lot of issues.

Both my power supply, and my gfs actually burnt and lit on fire just below where it plugs in to the computer.

This is a known hazard and they only put out a recall like 1 year after it happened. Luckily Apple replaced mine for free, even though it happened one year prior. I even bought a new one cause they wouldn't replace it for me, and they refunded me eventhough the purchase was a year ago.

Then my battery capacity magically died down to 30% after 1 year and less than 50 cycles. They replaced that for free as well.

My gf has had 2 batteries just die out of nowhere. Her second one just died last Sunday. Needs to be replaced.

Now luckily, Apple has one of the best CS i've seen, but still. With battery issues like this I will never buy a laptop that has an external battery.

Cale, you are lucky this was a spoof, or I was going to have to kill you for another Apple thread.

Both of these issues (Battery dying, and power supply burning) are known to Apple too since they have specific FAQ and pages devoted to these issues. So hopefully they can fix it.

But here's a pic of what i'm takling about. Mine just started smoking and I smelt something burning before I noticed it.

That spoof is hilarious! To tell you the truth, at the beginning I was wondering if it was real. It sure looked convincing at first. I LOL'd when the guy said the other guy spent 45 minutes typing an email to a friend.

I think the Onion had a feeling this one would go a long way, so they left the 'dicking around' comment until the end to surprise any unsuspecting viewers who thought they were actually watching a legitimate report. It's #17 on the Top Videos of the Day list on YouTube right now. I hope they keep up the great work for years to come.
