Oscar beat me to it, but i highly suggest you check out the recommendations in that thread. it's all about the feelgood stuff, and most of it is quite recent.

music like that is my reason for living.

I've always been searching for that optimistic and carefree vibe in new music, and although I do occasionally find some stuff that is similar to early 90's positive music (like already mentioned YAP), the feeling is just not the same. I guess it's mostly subjective, but I also think that it has something to do with analogue equipment and higher level of musicianship that prevailed in the 90's. Lovebirds, Joris Voorn, Derek Carr, Helios... they all make good music, but it's just not comparable to YAP and all that west coast music from early 90's.

I agree pretty strongly with this.

Strongly enough that I wrote an article about it, anyway.

"What happened to the cheerful pianos and upbeat pads of the early 00's? The feel good vocals and solid percussion? The quality of music?"

sounds a lot like...

we need a revolution!

Yeah. The bar has certainly been lowered, and there's no way to put it back.

yeah it's got dj le roy - bocachica in it, so... this ambient mix of it is really sick

i just bought de le roy's 'yo te quiero' on 12" too. interesting fact: de le roy is an early alias of Alex Neri

add2basket- miss the word

it has a carefree, optimistic feel to it and isnt cheesy.

and also, people still make disco type house, it's just not trendy these days it seems. people see it as cheesy, but i see it differently.

Dyed Soundorom - Tapioka (Agnes Mix)

Omar S - Day

I could post a hundred more

nefardec. the "diggin deep into Italy" set was absolutely fantastic. Very sensual, atmospheric and passionate-the way good house music should be. These tracks you posted are ok i guess, a tad generic though. Unfortunately, a lot of modern deep house/techno faces the same problem with epic-trance. It seems the only stuff that have a more "novel" sound are those clicks and glitch-infused modern techno and tech-house tracks-which i find terrible. Omar S-Psychotic Photosynthesis was a nice deep track though, very moving.
