Yep, yep what your refering to is a reconstruction filter on the DAC, Thats it's job

I read something that I found interesting.
Apparently, sampling at high sample rates is less accurate than at low sample rates.

"Sampling audio signals at 192KHz is about 3 times faster than the optimal rate.
It compromises the accuracy which ends up as audio distortions."

It's a really good read. It contains alot of basic information regarding sampling theory as well as more complicated scientific stuff.
