I'd say the line between a lot of subgenres are blurry at the moment, and moreso each day as producers and dj's are starting to get more and more creative.

And if you're not a fan of a particular style of music, why spend your time hating on it so much? If you don't like it, don't go. Don't listen to it. Pretty simple logic.

Hey Jon Jon,

Can you post any links to his "darker, harder" stuff?

All the music I have found on youtube would not cause any lines to be blurry between deep house and dark tech....

Try the Dennis Ferrer EM from the fall.

Footwork is a pretty diverse club as far as music goes.

There have been enough events there with everything from Electro House to Techno to Jungle to Breaks with a sprinkling of Hip Hop and Rock.

Hating on subgenre's is lame... and besides the majority of people would think that everything WE listen to sounds the same regardless what we may call it. remember when it was all called house?

I agree Activate....

I am not hating on anything...I am simply trying to make sure I pick the right night for me...if Saturday was going to be classic Clausell...Body and Soul....with a Deep House edge...then I would go to that...but if it's going to be dark and hard and techno....I would probably go on Friday night and have an extra day to recover from the weekend!

I was told at the club last week to expect a "techno" night....and the event flyer says he will "explore the darker, harder realms"....does not sound like a lot of "body and soul" to me!

Unfortunately you can never be sure with DJs these days! but that's a good thing right?

[hijack]

I've seen Claussel a few times and he's never disappointed me (although both times it was his Body & Soul style). Joe Claussel is an amazing DJ in general, so I think the night has a lot of potential regardless of what the night is being marketed as.

i agree. This is FAR from the fist time they've played electro at FW. come on. This isn't new...and it's def. still packed in there (ie. every single Jelo show). Plus, regardless if u like electro or not....Jelo and Hatiras are incredibly good at what the do, so it's hard to be disappointed with these guys on the decks regardless of what genre they're spinning!
