My parents have no idea what trance is.

Posted by burns on Jun-09-2002 06:22:

I can have my music loader than any other of my freinds because i am based in the attic....I just crank the tables up and walar..he he. My mates mams are always coming and and telling us to turn it down but my mam never does, he he

Posted by nrjizer on Jun-09-2002 06:34:

Both my parents like it, but they arent really into it. My mom likes the more mellow stuff.. she likes Out There and Back, and S&D, anything harder she doesnt really like. My dad is much more tolerant and doesnt mind most of my stuff... we listen to a lot of it when Im with him in the car.

yeah, my dad does this tapping on the wheel as well. To my trance, to rap, to country, to pop...to everything! he is so percussion oriented...he even tries to tap to my Ambient CD with no beat.

My mom does not like music period, but my dad likes some trance. they let me blare it fucking loud so it's all good.

I've gotten my brother interested in Trance
I've gotten my sister somewhat interested in Trance
Mom and Dad won't budge (though they seem to enjoy Milk Inc. Walk on Water).

I don't know what else to do to make the conversion of my sister complete. any ideas?

Posted by Philby on Jun-09-2002 08:09:

I don't think my mum minds it that much. She isn't really 'into it' or anything though. My dad likes electronic music though so when its just me and him in the car I can put a cd on. Not long ago I had a cd on which started with 'dave joy - first impressions (shokk mix)' and we're going along and my dad says 'have I heard this before? it sounds familiar' because I thought it sounds a lot like 'dj tiesto - urban train (cosmic gate mix)' in some parts and I'm thinking wow that was unexpected! My dad recognises a tune! My sister isn't into it but she doesn't really mind it too much, I mean of course she would rather have rnb or something on in the car but I can tell she doesn't hate it. So as long as it isn't too loud I can generally have the music pumping!

Posted by CrackedLcd on Jun-09-2002 08:48:

My parents hate trance...they always get on me about playing it loud...they don't understand how I can listen to muzik with the same kick drum.....

I'm for real

He likes most electronic music, course of the beat, he sounds like me sometimes saying to my grandmother "Isn't this cool???"
But he's into alot of music, i just think it's cool that he likes trance

My parents don't really know and don't really care. I played a few songs for them. My mom gave up within 2 min. and my dad listened in for a bit and said "Yeah, I can understand why you would like this." Besides, I don't live with them, so it's not a big issue.

Posted by webmeister on Jun-09-2002 15:42:

I live with my dad .. the other day he was looking around for cds to listen to while he was working at home .. picks up Politics of Dancing. Now he's hooked hehehe

Even listening to Rank 1 Live @ Trance Energy 2002

I should probably also point out that my dad is 58

My mum on the other hand doesn't mind it, although she prefers soppy chick shit (celine, shania et al) and brass band music (don't ask...)

Posted by Blue. on Jun-09-2002 16:27:

My mom and my dad like it, my bro likes it, my grandparents said they like it, MY FUKING GRANDPARENTS LMFAO lol

YEAH BABY

Posted by DJ_ALFA on Jun-09-2002 21:52:

I recently forgot a trance cd in the glove dept. of my dad's car, I was surprised to find that CD playing pretty loudly
so there goes my dad, he's hooked
my mom likes some of the stuff, she is more into DnB, and my sis like Euro and Trance

Posted by Orbax on Jun-09-2002 22:00:

I wish I lived on a planet that had two suns---regular sun and "rogue" sun. That way, when somebody asked me what time it was, I'd say, "Regular time?" And they'd say, "Yeah." And I'd say, "Sorry, all I have is rogue time." It'd be fun to be a stuck-up rogue-time guy.

Posted by BTG on Jun-09-2002 23:48:

My mom can't stand it, but my mom is ignorant that way. She says all it is is shit, and thumping. I dare not tell her that she's just too ignorant to hear the melody.

My dad can tolorate it, i showed him flight 643 in the car, and he's like, thats ok, But i knew he didn't like it. He likes Way Out West, and softer stuff, so when i get ISOS 3, he'll go nuts

my mom is in love with william orbit...she has all the cds

Posted by mos man on Jun-10-2002 00:30:

Smiley DJ

Thats a coincidence because one of my mum's fav. tunes is,

William Orbit - Barbers Adagio For Strings

Posted by PatMcGroin on Jun-10-2002 00:36:

in light of this new evidence i have come to the conlusion that william orbit has the "mom" market wrapped around his finger

Posted by Strike on Jun-10-2002 00:37:

ahhh
my parents don't even know what trance is
but they don't mind it when i listen to it

My mother really likes trance.. but more on the euro-trance side. She listens to underground trance in the car with me, and she seems to like that too. My Dad appears to like it, but not that much. He wouldnt go listen to a trance CD if I wasnt arround to put it on.

About 5 hr's a day I'm blasting the trance in my room, and no complaints at all about it, even with my sub pounding the floor away... Under my room, the walls are starting to crack, and my hard wood floor boards are starting to squeek.

all that bass isnt good for the house!!! but parents dont complain.

my sister likes trance too. but again, she likes more euro-trance. I dont mind it, so it's ok.

Posted by cHiLD on Jun-10-2002 03:53:

My mom dispises my music and my brothers make fun of it. My dad's never home to notice.
ahhh...I have such a supportive family.

Posted by ftnb on Jun-10-2002 03:55:

Exclamation

my grandma loves trance, no joke. and the closest shit my dad has ever gotten to liking something electronical was: moby - porcelin, & my mom dosnt mind sometimes.
