by the way circus is my favorite club A+

would go every week if I could afford it

Posted by Clovis on Jan-23-2009 05:56:

Maybe my sarcasm was missed, I think that would be the wrong thing to do

WTF are you talking about "if you could afford it"?!

Circus is like the absolute cheapest way to go clubbing right now, lol.

And I literally cannot afford it. I suppose I'll be okay going now, since there is a lot of free stuff (I actually prefer to pay, since I don't want circus to close down ). I hope I will be able to find which parking lot is the free one...

I was impressed to see David C hugging all these people as he took their tickets....and then giving me big hug like we were instantly good friends even though he knew nothing about me. I knew I'd found a special place. And it didn't end there, it's consistently the friendliest, least pretentious club crowd, usually by leaps and bounds over other LA or Vegas clubs I've been too. I caught the tail end of Spundae's days, and they were AWESOME, but even when times were slow...there's really nowhere else I'd rather be on Saturday night. So many great times...

+1

Seriously, the first time I went to Circus, I loved it. I could just go up to the DJ without any pretenses or without the hassle of security and tell them how awesome their set was.

Next time i go, I want to meet Gene.

Anyone have a picture of GEne? Never met him, or if i did, didnt know it was him. Who was the guy in the cowboy hat all the time?

Posted by morpheus529 on Jan-23-2009 08:32:

Also, what did Circus Disco look like in the 70's and 80's? Was Arena and that lumber place next door always there?

I found this interesting article online:

That article is so 2007!

I rememeber that article from like a year and a half ago!

And I still think it's funny that Arena was more expensive than Circus when he bought them.

I took the pics. See Gene in the 84' pic wearing white shirt & his Santa's hat?
In the 85' pic, up front, black guy wearing red... he had his ashes spread at Circus. There's quite a few people from those pics that are no longer here and I can tell you that they had a great time at CIRCUS while they were here.

Does that room with the runway get used anymore?

Posted by TSG on Jan-23-2009 20:22:

Those pics were taken in the main room. The wall you see is the wall on the right as you walk in the main room.

This pic is the before pic of Nov 2007

Of course I do. You're clearly not getting my point. All I'm saying is show some basic consideration for people who don't think like you do. For those who do consider unborn children human life...don't you think that's going to be just a LITTLE BIT of a passionate subject? Just a little bit...just use some imagination and think about how you would feel...

Look, I'm not bashing anybody. Regardless of where you stand on the issue let's have some basic consideration for each other.

Let's move on. I've said my piece. Sorry for jacking the thread. I couldn't bite my tongue.

Trinity, do you remember a song in the mid-80's by the Kinks called 'Come Dancing'. If not you should check it out.

Every time I think about the possibility of Circus shutting down I'm reminded of that song.

Get ready for a new era at Circus, it's definitely not shutting down anytime soon.
