On the contrary my friend! I went to Denny's today & while the line was long (I waited for about an hour).. The free Pancakes, Eggs, Bacon & Sausage was worth it..

The waitstaff did seem a bit stressed..

maybe it's worth it to you, and that's cool. but to me, definitely not worth the wait (time is money) for what, an $8 meal that showcases the worst of our industrialized agriculture? I guess this is why people live off the value menu at McDonalds too. just not my cup of tea.

what do they get out of this promotion? i think this is a very bad marketing, and very much abusing their employees for working like a dog

I heard that Dennys stock went up 12% today

Bad Marketing? No way. Look at all the exposure Denny's is getting. It's all over the internet and all over the news. People are talking. This is also a way for Denny's to bring in new customers. There's tons of people out there that never been to a Denny's, what a way to try one out.

Just drove by Denny's and there's at least 25 people lined up out the door. I love free food but not that much.

Kinda like what Circus has been doing with their FREEBIES as of late! Been seeing lots of newbies!

Nah, it only went up 2% ($.04) from $1.92 to $1.96 per share... the stock dropped almost 35% for the past 6 months.

I don't know, maybe it's just me.. but who wouldn't know Denny's? They're all over the place just like McD.. I'm not sure how it is on the Midwest and East coast. Bad marketing in a sense that there are more people who came 'just' to take advantage of the gree food.

I wonder if there's a statistic of how many new customers that Denny's are bringing from this promotion... I doubt it would even hit 50% of all the customers who came today. Nevertheless, I'm not a marketing expert, so I think I should refrain from saying bad marketing

I'm sure NOT everyone ordered the FREE meal.

They only finished up 2% today. They've had a shaky month too.

I woke up around 9-10 and called the Denny's around my area.

Some of them i couldn't get through or hold of. I either got a busy signal or it just rang and rang. Finally, i got through to one and they said a 2 hour wait. I called my friends and just went back to sleep.

Grand Fail.

We ate around 1ish... We had 4 people at our table.. We paid for Orange Juice & Coffee's.. left a $5 tip...

I will admit most the people taking advantage of the deal were poor folks, teenagers & the elderly. I even spoke with one old black guy outside who said he had eaten at the Dennys across town for breakfast & he was going to be eating lunch at the one we were at..

Posted by R!CH on Feb-03-2009 22:28:

the denny's we went to was chill. it was a 40 min wait, but we double ordered and tipped nicely. waiters were pretty friendly. i would be stoked as a waiter to have so much foot traffic--as opposed to none.

any homeless? they should have been taking advantage of this instead of peddling for change.

and at $8 a meal(reg price) and Oj's and coffee im sure the bill would have been ~$40, thus $6 would have been 15% tip, so good going!
ALWAYS tip on the full amount of the bill prior to the promotion/coupon.

OH they gave a reciept with the full value of the meal.. Ours was like 32 bucks & some change I think..

It really is wrong to not tip especially if it's a free meal.. Really was just a good cheap meal that you had to wait to sit down for... Our food was there right after we sat down.. Cooks were obviously cooking in bulk.. The waitress didn't even ask what we wanted.. Just how we wanted our eggs.. lol

Well if ya can't afford $30 dinners in Vegas R!ch, then a pair of free (welfare) meals at 'Dennys' is seemingly appropriate. Must've been an lighter day at the social services office this morning since most of the government assisted Libtards were in line at Dennys in any of your DNC neighborhood of urban crime and handouts.

Ah, not surprised at about this at all, but here's a fine sampling of the people who took advantage:

quote:
in the pre-dawn hours Tuesday, the unemployed medical assistant from Greenville, S.C., waited 40 minutes in near-freezing temperatures outside a Denny's restaurant for a free Grand Slam breakfast ... "It's definitely a blessing," says Richardson, 35, who has been out of work since May. "I've put in applications everywhere Wal-Mart, Kmart. I haven't heard nothin'."

He hasn't heard nothin'? I bet.

Dozens of college students skipped class in Jacksonville.

Bless our education system. Thanks Denny's!

quote:
The promotion was briefly halted and rain checks given out at a St. Louis Denny's when parking lot traffic nearly cut access to a freeway artery.

Is this what Obama was talking about when he wanted more emphasis on our transportation infrastructure? Well, thanks to Denny's it sounds like police and state personnel saw more action!
