A lot of events are being scaled back. ex. Ultra on Friday has been scaled back to 4 stages from 8 stages.. Saturday to 5 stages from 10 stages.

I've heard WMC pass sales are way down.

and the big one, I've heard from the owner of one of the big hotels that no one is booking rooms. He said that the places that are doing well are only half booked by now(most aren't even close). Normally by this point it's damn near impossible to get a decent room. There are also still condo's a plenty to be had.

It could turn out differenly, but the economy in the US is pretty shit right now.

I'm probably going to go for the 6th year in a row, but I'm not feeling excited or counting down the days like some of my friends. I haven't even booked yet, so that shows my energy level.

I don't think it's going to be as busy as in years past with the recession. For all you people saying that it's going to be better with less people, there's still the same amount of parties, so less people is going to be bad. I don't want to go to a WMC party that is 75% full. It's not the same.

i loooooooooove that my student years are behind me and I can finally make it down/afford this......and, I dont know if it's cuz i'm getting older or whatever but i'm sooooooooo over crowds....wouldn't mind some chill out time between parties also....

Yes, too bad. Honestly, I know I've seen the best yrs of WMC already long ago, I only commited to going this yr cuz 2 friends from Europe were gonna go (and 1 bailed out already so I'm bitter about not seeing them). On a side note, I've gotten an Italian guy friend to go in on our accomodation arrangement with my group- I actually met him in line for Danny T at WMC in '02, and somehow we've stayed in touch- so that's the beauty of WMC right there. Just wishing more TO peeps were headed down, but I'll be SO glad to see whomever I can down there.
