I know it's already been mentioned, but The Wire is the best series HBO has had in a long time. The John Adams mini-series was very good, catch that if you can for sure.

100% agreement with u, Dexter is hands down the best show on TV!

Posted by infinity HiGH on Feb-07-2009 22:51:

Dexter is so overrated. The characters are so fucking 1 dimensional on that show it's not even funny. Their stories are so shit. Dexter (the character) is great but he's been doing the same thing since season 1 so by now it's getting pretty repetitive.

Did anyone catch that show John From Cincinnati on HBO about a year ago? It only lasted for one season. It was a super weird show about this surfer family who does some fucked up stuff. It was so hard to follow.

Btw, Entourage is the greatest show of all time. What guy wouldn't want to be Vince?

That I agree with. Now it's just sad to watch it, I can't stand it. Only thing worst than that is Malacao.

LOL How am I clueless?? Are you saying the characters are well thought-out and deep? Are you saying that Dexter, for the past 3 seasons, hasn't been letting someone in just a little too close only to end up killing them? So far it's been 3 for 3. Watch Rita be next for the series finale.

Oh, not to mention his sister (or wife, in real life) needs to be punched in the face. Bitch can't act for shit.

You must be the clueless one if you can't see through the cookie cutter crap in this show.

infinity HiGH.... you and I have the same taste. I feel like I'm looking at my own responses when you're typing in this thread.

the documentary "Small Town Ecstasy" was pretty interesting. depressing as hell, but interesting.

i think that aired on HBO anyway. it's been ages since i've seen it.

pretty much. its entertaining in parts, but hardly the best thing ever to grace television. people are so easily pleased. i mean, BSG is grittier, nastier and more confronting than this tale about a serial killer, and its scifi ffs.

Dexter season 1 rocked, season 2 was not nearly as good but was watchable. I stopped watching season 3 halfway through.

ohhhhh... yeah I remember that. Man, that really was sad. That guy was married for like 21 years and lost it and started doing X with his kids, going to raves, and even letting his 14 year old kid eat a pill with him. You could tell he was a complete dork when he was a kid, and threw away his marriage and family to have a 2nd chance of being cool and accepted by high schoolers. I don't know what was more depressing... seeing him roll with his kids or watching him walk down the street after a rave holding hands with an 18 year old black girl with his visor cocked to the side and a pacifier in his mouth.

yeah some of the scenes from that still haunt me... seeing a dad all fucked on pills with his pre-teen kids is just not right on so many levels.

my favorites are/were oz, the sopranos, the wire, rome, entourage, curb your enthusiasm, generation kill, some of arliss was alright, and a little bit of flight of the conchords and summer heights. hbo doesn't seem to have a show right now that you NEED to watch imo and i doubt they will be able to top the first few i listed.

Posted by stren on Feb-08-2009 08:00:

Rome, Band of brothers

watching Small Town Ecstasy, it's a bit fucked up to say the least. Definetly would say it's worth watching.

Would you guys agree with saying this is the best channel or is there one that i'm maybe missing out on that the programs are particularly good?

Cheers.

so what's the difference between "sopranos" and "the sopranos"
