Man I wish I was as cool as the rest of you guys who've completely blocked out the outside world and never heard of "Chris Brown", and I loathe mainstream music and barely listen to top 40 radio stations. Jesus Christ.

I love how, just because people might not've heard of somebody who is relatively less famous than a lot of other artists, they get slammed because people automatically assume that they have some form of elitism.

Thing is, I know plenty of people who only listen to MTV/Top 40/etc., and a couple of them didn't even know who Chris Brown was. They must be trying to be better than everyone else, too.

How so? Is Chris Brown in every single song out there? If not, then why should they know who he is if they haven't heard him before? People can "know [their] music" without knowing who Chris fucking Brown is. Well, of course most of them aren't following the music the way we do, but if MTV, Top 40, is their music, then they should know Chris Brown imho. That's the point I was trying to make. And I assumed that most of us here know music world well enough to have heard of Chris Brown, even if one doesn't like his music.
