-- 15 Year Old Girl Beaten By Cops

Those were pigs indeed. No ifs and's or buts...

Id say most officers wouldn't do anything like this, their out for the good of society but u know...rotten apples and some anger control issues lead to shit like this.

Be it the girl throw a show or punch, the officer cannot let emotion drive him as he was beating the shit out of her, he could have easily grabbed her, pinned her and cuffed her without all the brutality.

I hope the cop gets punished for assaulting the girl, but I also think she deserved it.

I understand he stepped over the line and shouldn't have reacted that way. But I'm also glad the stupid brat got what was comin to her. You don't get the shit beat out of you if you respect those who are in a position of authority.

Kids walk around these days like they're invincible. They mouth off and disrespect cops and other authority figures, then when they get their ass beat like they deserve, a bunch of panzy ass bitches start up with "Ooooohh, poor 15 year old girrrrrl." Fuck the girl! If she'd acted calmly and cooperated, she wouldn't have had her ass kicked. It's not like he caused any permanent or serious damage, all she has to show for it are a couple of cuts and bruises at worst. That's nothing.
See? This person knows. Yeah, it's horrible but I feel no remorse for someone acting out against authority. If they did this to a 25 year old make everyone would be saying " oh what a jerk, man deserved it blablabla" Child or no child, now maybe she'll behave.

Posted by Yohan on Mar-02-2009 22:53:

As much as it seems that the cop used excessive force, I'd bet that the girl learned never to ever throw a temper tandrum at an authority figure.

Posted by Aleksandra on Mar-02-2009 23:05:

that's fucked up!

Amen to that one! I thought there were rigorous psychological tests cops had to go through and keep going through before being allowed on the force?

I don't care if that's a girl, guy 15 or 55 that was completely out of how he acted.

That's assuming two things, using force will deter more acts of disobedience to authority and disciplining of the public is now in officer's job descriptions.

Normally, "discipline" be it a jail sentence, or a slap on the wrist, is up to a judge and not any officer.

pain is nature's of telling you fucked up

without all the sociological crap and role of cops and whatnot, would you do something again, if you recognize that doing the same thing will earn you more pain?

So, would you say she got the right amount of "pain" in accordance to how much "authority bashing she did"? Maybe the officer was off at telling how much or how little, this is still of course assuming that physical pain infliction will in fact better the individual.

Could there have been another alternative disciplinary way of dealing with this young developing person? Could maybe the role of a judge of sorts decide with a calm and critical manner?

A 12 year old robbed my parents' house. Did he get punished? No. All he did was laugh.

A 14 year old broke into mine and my neighbour's cars 2 summers ago. He got fcuk all too, and my miata's ragtop was sliced for a cheap pair of sunglasses, and I spent $1200 to get it fixed.

The teens that actually make it to jail, must've been even bigger spoiled brats to get there in the first place.

At first glance the cops were too brutal on the girl, in the video, but I won't alledge anything until the rest of the story comes out.

abercrombie, no matter whats the rest of the story, what he did was wrong. cops are paid to stop that kind of shit from happening. hey, she called him names i agree, maybe she even told him she'll kill him, or kill his kids or whatever. he went trough training to deal with that kind of shit.

look at the video. he kicks her in the stomach then punches her then slams her head against the wall and throws her on the ground.

fuck, lets say thats ok even though i cannot understand what could she do to deserve that kind of punishment. if it was a big guy i'd say fuck him, he's stupid, he deserved it. but that was a scrawny 15 years old girl.

now, those two punches to the back of her head.... thats scary. thats fucking evil. why would he do that to her?? to anybody?? and most importantly would he do it if it was 15 YEARS OLD WHITE GIRL??? honestly, would he do it??

would you say "oooh she deserved it" if it was your daughter or your sister??

note that i agree that the cops used excessive force, at least judging by the info from the vid

non physical disciplinary measures only work if the person receiving discpline is willing to accept non physical disciplinary measures (or be coerced into accepting non verbal discipline, vice physical discipline)

hence why for some, going to a jail even for a day straightens out the person and he never commits other crime. and yet there are constant reoffenders who arent fazed by jail time

however, because of our innate survival instinct, humans naturally dont like pain. so, on most basic instinct level, physical disciplinary measures teaches a person that it is most likely a good idea to avoid repeating that action that brought on physical pain

Excuse me, but when did I call anyone a dumbass or stupid (and please disregard the tongue-in-cheek Simpsons post in response to Diginut shootin my argument down in that thread, it was also a joke)?

Also, I was really hoping that you would catch on to my tongue-in-cheek tone when I replied in all caps with the whip-smileys to your question.

The REAL question here is, would I have the balls to say it to a cop? After the video in this thread? Probably not.

no, the real question was would you have balls to transfer your internet insult to real life. now that i have the answer (you dont) forget about it and read this :

and tell me what do you think about that? lets say she called him a bitch and she got beat up. and you say she deserved it.

now lets say you called me a bitch and i beat you up. would you say " oh i tottaly deserve it"??

cops can beat up people (in this case 15 years old black girl) and you think its ok and i can't beceause...??

do you understand what am i trying to do here?

+1

I don't think the video shows all events leading up to the ass kicking she got.

First of all, you're not in a position of authority, so I'd have no reason to respect said authority.

Secondly, yes, if I called you a bitch (and seriously meant it, not my ridiculous tongue-in-cheek diatribes on the interwebz when I'm often exagerating a point), and you punched me for it. Yes, I would say that I deserved it. You don't go around calling random people "bitches" in real life.

Thirdly, if I DID call you a bitch in real life, it would be after getting to know you, and allowing you to get to know me, and understand that I often say over-the-top things to push people's buttons and get reactions. It wouldn't be the first time I've taken a punch for saying something stupid. But more likely, since you would know me, you wouldn't punch me either.

In conclusion. Yes, I probably WOULD have the balls to call you a bitch in real life, to your face. With the qualifier that I would have to know you first, and know that you understand my tendency to make over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek statements. Now, if you've read enough of my TA posts over the years, you probably already know that. Judging from your response though, you take me just a touch too seriously.

I just said I want to hear the other side of the story. I very much agree it looks like police brutality all the way. There's just been so much brutal this brutal that on TV news as of late, only to discover the other side of the story evens things out or skews my view the other way. Let's watch it pan out.

cops are scumbags. what else is new. i know two 18 yr old girls who got beaten and got their heads slammed on the concrete by cops in toronto infront of a club. their friend insulted the officers but they did NOTHING. theyre suing them right now

The mother of a young woman who committed suicide while her prison guards refused to intervene is demanding the officers who watched her die - and the "faceless bureaucrats" whose orders they followed - be held accountable for her death. A tearful Coralee Smith held a news conference today to demand the federal government allow the correctional investigator to finish what he started and name those responsible for her daughter Ashley's death. Criminal charges against four correctional officers were withdrawn in December. Now Smith's mother and her lawyer have written Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan telling him there is no longer any excuse to withhold blame in the case. The 19-year-old Moncton, N.B., native strangled herself at Grand Valley Institution for Women in October 2007 while seven guards stood back because they had been instructed not to intervene if she was still breathing. Correctional investigator Howard Sapers reported Tuesday that Smith did not receive the care, treatment and protection she required. Sapers said the incident continued a "disturbing and well-documented pattern of deaths in custody." A "heartbroken" Coralee Smith says she feels her daughter died because "no one in Canada really cared ."
