As far as Talk is concerned...I like the frist two tracks much more than the rest.....found the techy stuff really boring...

SO if you get any firm answers on what we should expect....post it here....otherwise, don't think I will take the chance!

Dear aflyonthewall,

This is old (2007) but it made me excited for the night..

Exposed: James Talk - Labour day weekend 2007

quote:
James took over and proceeded to set his own tone. He started off with some down tempo (definitely not minimal) tech-house to build tension. It was a contrast to what Andy had been playing, but at the same time the transition was perfect.

I bailed outside for a quick breath of fresh air just as the pace was picking up and by the time I returned the space was locked in another dimension. Pryda like bombs were being unleashed from the booth at a furious rate; however, instead of retreating, the crowd was hovering over the front of the stage in an absolute frenzy.

This was a prime example of a DJ taking over the room with tight mixing, programming and stellar track selection. The intensity was next level but it wasnt exhausting. Actually, it was the most exhilarating dance floor experience Ive had in Toronto this year. Huge props to James Talk.

Will be there. Hopefully before 11 but I ended up committing to another party too so hitting that first. Been a while since I had a whole weekend off

I'll see all you monkeys there.

2.5 hours for the headliner? sounds like a really quick set when he is coming all the way from England....

Not sure why asking a question is translated into "bitching and moaning"...

I assume clubs, promoters...and DJs post on here to get people to come...not to turn them off...

Now...is anyone in the know going to answer...or just make more wise cracks?

The quality of participation on this board sure has gone dowm hill....I guess I should have stayed a lurker....

I am pretty sure that your question was answered. Listen to his promo set - thats most likely what we will hear.

Here is my question....does he talk about this on his "promo set"?

Posted by infinity HiGH on Mar-14-2009 19:38:

What's your question exactly?

Cause that's sure what it seems like. A set was posted, along with comments on what to expect, and somehow that's not good enough. It's like you're expecting an exact definition of the night before it happens. Sorry, but nobody here has a time machine to go check out exactly what he`ll play. Then you go on some silly rant about the economy like it has any relevance, and to top it off you`re complaining about the set times even though you said you`re most likely not going in the first place.

That qualifies as bitchmoaning to me.

Why would a DJ come all the way from the UK and only play for 2.5 hours....it seems really short...

ohhh sorry missed that (was the last post on the first page)

Thats pretty typical for Footwork it seems... But often the headliner will end up playing a bit longer than intended as well.

Plus I know a lot of Djs dont like playing longer sets... but I cant speak for James Talk

Thanks Intangible....

I think Infinity really must be "high"....

I use this site to get infomation and make a decision on where I want to go...and what I want to do....seems to me I should be able to ask like minded poeple for help, info, advice....without being hijacked....

I'm curious to know if after all these questions you are actually coming?
And did you end up listening to his set? What did you think?
