it really is the best and most fair match up. both undefeated fighters, it should be a great fight.

i think they should have a forrest vs. rampage bout after that. rampage mentioned he wants it more than a title shot and if forrest wins this one again in a more convincing fashion it'll shoot him back up to contention

Thats was his mistake in the first place. He did try to take the fight down, but Machida was just too strong for him. Machida have a strong & unorthodox stand up. Ortiz got upset because he keep moving or what he call it as "running away" . I havent really seen his ground game cause he execute it so damn quick.

yeah, he also kept coming straight at Machida, which is a bad idea. it has a lot to do with his traditional Shotokan Karate background. he trains a lot of evasiveness and countering.

still don't see Thiago winning it on the ground either. Lyoto is a BJJ blackbelt and BJ Penn couldn't really do much grappling against him either (granted the size difference, but still).

I know it's MMA, and anything can happen, but at least on paper, I don't see any way Rashad can win. They're both undefeated, but Lyoto has never lost a round in the UFC, and has made all his opponents look amateur. Rashad has had some close fights, and arguably lost to Tito.

For comparison, see:

Tito vs Rashad
Tito vs Lyoto

that would have had him with three fights in five months. not only was that three fights, but that would have been:

wanderlei silva
keith jardine
rashad evans

that's almost punishment

Once Machida wins..hopefully Rampage will be next in line.

I still can't help but think that a lot of this had to do with the mir vs lesnar being postponed to 100.

Looking forward to the next fight night here in Nashville.
