Don't be too sure about that. The judicial system may be archaic but that doesn't mean that they are blind to this. A good judge will be asking which other clubs have been raided and what was found etc vs. amount of times raided over a period of time. Theoretically, all they are needing to prove is victimization and you would have to be blind, deaf and dumb to not acknowledge that.

so what happens when comfort zone gets shut down??? what club will be targeted for having the "highest rate" of drug use? if the police win this battle they will just move onto the next club until they destroy the entire nightclub/afterhours scene all together.

And CZ owners have obviously done their research. They know what they are up against. They wouldn't file a report without solid evidence.

I will bet money CZ win's.

I read you're post before you got a chance to delete it, but I agree with you 100%.

Some people are just blind to the fact of what is/was taking place inside there.

all i'm saying is what makes you think they are going to stop once the zone gets shut down?

i am by no means a zone supporter. i've only been there a handful of times and i don't plan on ever going back. however... i do feel that they have been mistreated since this whole thing started.

Ever since the raid the club has complied with the cops 100%. We've all read the sign when you walk in. The coffee's on the club officer!

The cops DO harass the patrons. I got searched leaving one morning and the cop told me himself that they're not going to stop searching and questioning patrons until the club shuts down. That's harassment!

I hope they win! I want a new patio!

See this I don't agree with, just because you were in a club doesn't give them just cause, the patrons that agree to the search are dumb.

However doesnt that mean the patrons should be sueing? From the stories I have heard the patrons are getting searched in parking lots and such, if it was in front of the club then the club can def complain.

Well they have a point though. The authorities thought that CZ was being run by drug dealers and gangsters (nothing could be farther from the truth), and they thought the original raid would prove that. Thats why they confiscated computers and cash from the business, hoping to prove this and shut them down.

When it turned out that this wasn't the case, they decided to still try and shut them down. They turned to other licensing agencies to do surprise inspections (I think thats harassment, unless these agencies can prove they do this to other businesses all at once as well). The police harassed people when they were leaving CZ and walking to their car, stopping them and searching them with no probable cause (harassment and highly illegal).

The fact that all these tactics failed is a big embarrassment to the authorities. It proved that, although there were people going to CZ with drugs, the actual club was running a completely legit business.

Not only that, the club STILL took steps to beef up security and ban certain bad characters. They also made a public offer to work with the authorities to address any concerns.

They have a case I think from a legal stand point. If you don't CZ then that's fine, but you still have expect the authorites to follow the letter of the law...
