I put an MD headunit in my car a few years ago and it was fantastic.
I'm pissed off MD essentially went away as it was a great format. Smaller than a CD, scratchproof, portable MD players much smaller than a CD, easy to record and manage as opposed to burning CDs through a computer. Plus I liked the fact you could easily add track and album names.

dont know what the joke is. cds are cheaper, price and quality wise compared to minidiscs.
i dont have own any cd albums and my cd-burner isnt rigged up so MD is fine. just need to drag and drop some good tracks from my computer.
if your only copying music then MD is perfect. its a quality format, if a little more specialised. got a brand new sony net-MD for 35 off ebay . minidiscs are also much cooler than big stupid cds. they dont even fit in your pocket and always end up scratched!
and whats the gramafone all about! cds are more backwards than MD!
no ID tags AND less portable.
protip: mp3
Protip2: mp3 at (micro)SD (or usb stick) or HD.
got a brand new sony net-MD N710 for £35 off ebay . now blasting around to the hybrid mix of bt never gonna come back down. all my high quality beats on a little plastic square. out-classes cds easily. the guy gave me loads off new minidiscs as well. its just a case of drag and drop from my computer. easily a better purchase than a rickety big old cd drive! love the minidisc 'beep' too, even that oozes style.
why do you keep comparing minidiscs to cds?
Many of us now have a stereo with a usb port. You can pick up a 16GB usb stick for 25. Tiny thing that fits in your pocket.
Just drag and drop from your computer. No cds, no mini discs, no mess, no fuss.
