I remember loving Sandstorm the first time I heard it, and hating it the fourth time I heard it. It'd been played four times in a row at a house party.

You're right, that was long ago and he could've change/improved, but I'm guessing if I didn't enjoy him when I was a complete trance head then I wouldn't now.

Sandstorm was what kicked off the trance era of 98-2000 in the UK.
I remember it was the first trance track I had heard.

no it wasn't. since it was released in 2000.
There were big tunes before that one such as System F - Out of the blue which got alot of airtime.

Don't know why I thought that.. Long time ago I guess. I can just remember my mates repeatedly playing it.

I also remember Warrior and Silence getting hammered around the same time as well.

I used to love Sandstorm, and even have the single. But it has been utterly overplayed and isn't a good enough track to stand up to that many repeats. Now I'm just sick of hearing it.

Yeah. It was originally released in 1999 and the local jocks played it here long before that. The first UK release also came out in 1999 in a relatively smaller pressing but it wasn't until 2000 when it got a massive scale international release.

Makes sense then.. I thought my memory wasn't that bad!

I just remember getting played to death on radio 1 every week by judge jules. So many good tracks around these few years.
