-- WMC Recession Proof?
Pages (2): « 1 [2]

Normally our group consists of 20+ peeps. This year there will be 8 of us. Main reason is because of the economy. Either friends are out of work or they are just really tight on money.

I could easily say I should stay home and save the money however this is the one time a year I get to leave responsibilities behind and just enjoy myself for a week.

I will be going to a few less shows and not eating out very much (we have a kitchen in our room). Thankfully I don't drink alcohol so that will save a bundle. Heck I can get some bean dip for less than a drink at club.

I paid for my hotel in advance, plane fare the next month, tickets for events the following month, and spending money from this month. I spaced my expenses out so I wouldn't get hit with 2k all at once and swallow some of my paycheck.

One can easily spend $40-$100 a day on food alone. If there's a fridge, food should be put in it.

The third largest expense are the events. Choose wisely. Bigger isn't always better.

I have plenty of credit cards and a $5,000 line of credit from Wells Fargo.
My cash flow hasn't been that good recently since I just took the California Bar Exam and had to take time off to study.

Hopefully if I pass (I'll find out May 15th), I'll be a lawyer and rake in good $$$.

So as previously stated, fuck it. Couple more thousand in debt won't make me or break me in the long run. (hopefully)

I deserve this trip.

+ I promised myself I'll be @ WMC every year until the year I die! Bring the wife and kids one day. (If I ever get married)

Be careful. Wells Fargo didn't give you credit because they like you. They want a piece of your pie. They'll keep giving you more and more credit until you start just making payments. Because that's how they roll.

There is a reason they gave me the credit in the fist place. I have good credit. I know how to manage my credit. I do transfer credit from a credit card to another credit card at times, especially when they give promotional rates with no fee.

I am definitely not one of those that thinks credit is free money and to max out every card. I actually just got off the phone from to Chase to cancel a card since they mailed me a letter stating they are highering their APR. But you are right...my Discover gave me 3.99 percent on purchases for the 9 months...their goal is to rape me in 9 months. By then I will either transfer elsewhere or hopefully just pay it off.
Discover has paid for my plane ticket though two years in a row to WMC! =)

Am I the only one that can't stop thinking about next week?

You're not alone. Pre-WMC anxiety is quite common. There are 2 ways to handle this.

1. Relax. Meditate. Prepare for the best week of your life.
2. Go out and party for the next few days. Stay up all night and go strait to work. Sleep during your lunch break. This well prepare you for the rigorous activities ahead

I like the parties coming out and putting a decent price point vs absurd cover charges. Bigger is never better!! I have a feeling the best party this year is going to be Luke fair @ heathrow for 10 bucks!!! what a stealll

audio logic boat party for 40 bucks too!!

The best parties are one's you can't remember the following day and people you don't remember meeting are telling everyone what you did
