A proper online promo vid is usually between 30 seconds - 90 seconds.
The music doesn't have to reflect the music there but has to reflect the feeling you get, you need a happier be it cheesier song in there. And since your not being paid you shouldn't give a shit about anything but lets say for a second you do, most managers will not want any groping/grinding action in their videos, it ultimately deters away some of the clientele. oh and take away that middle finger shot.

my two cents, good luck, you seem to be getting better and better at it

In your case being in the music business you would have the edge on what ppl respond too. Some of the shots I've kept in was because they, for lack of a better term, appeared to be spontaneous and fun. I guess to portray the night as action-packed with all kinds of things going on at the same time.

When Shaya and Chinamon take their club photos we get a sense of the night by the type of shots they manage to get. Yes sometimes ppl are sticking their fingers at the camera, but also the wacky group shot, gals being very suggestive in their poses, etc. I always liked their photos as it, too me, made it look like the night was a night you wish you were there for. I guess in a way with this first action video that I'm trying to put into motion what Shaya and Chinamon put into stills. As I try similar videos in the future it's how ppl respond with comments that dictate whether or not I'm going in the right direction. Obviously the ppl that invite me have the final say on what they find acceptable, but then again if they've seen prior vids I've made and ask me to video their event, then I'd think there's some aspect of how I do my vids that they find appealing without me trying to look like everyone else.

Keep the dancing whores in there. The video will be sick, the video will look good, you will get paid, and Stevie B will do his final performance there because of it.

LOL! Never mind... when I was offered money to video at The Docs, another reason I turned it down was because it was freestyle with Joey. No way! I don't care how much they offered, there's no way I wanted any part of that. Besides, it was also all ages too ! ! !

Hmmm, maybe so... but at the same time there's just some things that are somewhat uncomfortable. An all ages event is one, at least for me. The other is trying to video an event where you can get into doing it since the music is not agreeable. When I'm at Guv, I love ALL the music so much that videoing everything is fun. At Body English, it wasn't too bad and the ppl were really friendly. The 2 guys I was with made the evening fun, even though I wasn't that much into the tunes. It only got bad for me later that evening becuase of the "way back" tunes they were playing. Been there done that. I don't live in the past. Now freestyle with a club full of underage Gino's and Gina's... no way.
