let me know how armin was. I was determined to come out tonight, but I fell ill today, and don't feel good at all. So I have to stay home and get some rest.

No way.

Armin routinely plays about 4 hours in SF, no matter what night. In the end, it's really up to him when he stops...but I can't really remember the last time he didn't less than about four hours in SF.

Spundae headliners typically come on around midnight if there crowd is there. The big ones usually play until 4am+, unless they are pretty anal with their booking times (like how a few DJs play two hours standard...won't say names. Read some interview with a DJ that talked about how SF and New York crowds expect long sets which is why the two cities often get them! What other city outside of NYC and SF gets like 12 hour sets from Tenaglia...I can't think of any! I could be wrong though.). Anyhow, since it's a Tuesday night, he might've come on at 11:30pm. Imagine he'll go until 3:30am as long as there are people. But as I said, it's really up to him.

He always does SF right.... so bummed I can't be there, but happy where I am right now so no complaints in the end.

Armin went til about 3:15 or so.

Like sbaker said, his set was a very ASOT. Miami's set was much better, IMHO. The crowd wasn't doing much for me either, which was pretty annoying up until about 2am or so until it started thinning out a bit. But I'm picky soooooooo.......

I agree about the crowd, but I was loving the music. One of the best, crowd pleasing set I've heard from him in a long time.

Posted by dj mccord on Apr-08-2009 22:18:

from the pictures, it looks like it was good turn out. Nice job Spundae!

Posted by Alain on Apr-09-2009 01:32:

Thanks to everyone who made it out for part one of Spundae's Anniversary! You're continued support is much appreciated!

Last night was crazy and had so much energy, it was bigger than the Saturday night we had him on last year

Jerome Isma-ae's set was great and had a lot of solid, bass driven tracks

It was hard to believe this event was happening on a Tuesday night

Fucking great night! Never seen such a crazy crowd like that at Ruby before. The energy in the room was amazing the entire night. This was make or break time for me with Armin. The last couple times he didn't impress me but Tuesday night definitely made up for it. The videos I have are Congrats to Spundae on the 16 years, one of the best Tuesdays I have ever had.

Posted by R!CH on Apr-09-2009 22:38:

what a crazy tuesday! i got an eye infection from riding without shades earlier in the day and could barely see anything, ate it pretty hard running across the street in the rain before i even got inside. but it was a good time in the end. glad to see the spundae la crew out in full force again as well. i really liked ruby's new set up and controls for the flood lights, and how they used them throughout the night. very nice touch!

so happy 16th again spundae... thanks for consistently throwing the best, most diverse parties in sf and being the guiding light for me over the past 5 years! i only have spundae to thank for introducing me to my favorites such as burridge, digweed, sasha, warren, zabiela, howells, etc... ahh sooo many amazing nights just thinking about it

tuesday?

Posted by diskodave on Apr-09-2009 23:58:

Good times Tuesday!! Ruby was packed to the rim! I sware the best crowd comes on a weekday... because the die hards show up purely for the music. Great vibe Happy bday spundae!
