I've heard it before, but I just can't place it for the life of me - maybe 3rd or 4th song he played.

omg please find the name of that track that was amzing....actually all of menno's tracks plz post
Ps anyone remember seeing a guy in a pink ibiza shirt with glowsticks on his neck and wrists dancing the entire night like a mad man....that was me :P

Also, is the recession affecting people that much that they can't afford deodorant anymore?

The crowd was absolutely terrible!!

People have no respect, showing and elbowing people out of the way...

Its the people that keep me from going out more then anything else nowadays.

Awesome night. It's great to leave the KH during a great trance set only to arrive in the Guv during a great trance set.

KH was packed until around 4 or so at which point there was room to dance (after a short nap in the raised area near the entrance). Awesome!

Very cool to see so many TAs. Fantastic vibe amongst good friends, new friends, fellow revelers.

Highlight of the night: getting my pen back from Menno after he signed a bunch of shirts and cards with it after his set...

hehe let me put it that way - all the TA's who stayed behind at 11.30 to listen to him at Guv, were in KH by 12 listening to Emery

WOW WOW WOW

I don't think this night could have been much better, great DJ's great club, and most importantly great friends!!! TOTA's were out in full force last night, I couldn't even keep track of how many I saw.

Review Time.

Started off the night with some Glen Morrison. Very good tunage not overly banging but a nice warm up none the less. The sound in the main room was actually really damn good last night. Then we went over to the KH to see Gareth Emery.

Gareth Emery was playing HARD. I mean really hard. It was nice and his record selection was good but IMO there was no progression to it, didnt really flow. Kinda went up stayed up, then came down softly, maybe thats his style but I wasn't used to it. None the less I was still completly entertained. Then the crowd. While he is playing ppl are chanting ARMIN ARMIN ARMIN. I thought that was disrespectful to Gareth but it is not the first time something like this has happened before.

Then Armin came on. He was starting a little harder than he normally does but I think that is because Gareth really had the tunes pumping and the crowd was moving big time. I stuck around for about an hour and then the trance was a little too vocal and there was an abundance of fromage (cheesy) trance. Time to go see Markus.

On the way back to the Guv we went through this tent smoking tunnel. Wow. I think Vince put it best. I felt like I just smoked a whole pack of smoke walking through there. You could literally swaft the smoke while walking through there. The BBQ smelled soooooo good though.

We got into the Guv just in time for Markus to start. HE KILLED IT!!!! I'm prolly going to hit some sore spots here but IMHO Markus over Armin last night. You could just tell that Markus had the crowd eating out the palm of his hand. Great progression and just destroyed the place every 5 mins. After about 2 hours of Markus I thought it would be great to to head back over to KH to see how Armin was doing and see how he closed his set. Caught the last two tracks and was disappointed. Once again too many vocals, but from what I heard from The Ear, I missed the middle 2 hours of his set which were the best.

Funny fact: litterally 5 minutes after Armin was done half the KH disappeared. Soooooo much more elbow space.

Then Menno. Holy Shit. Dude was dropping tunes harrrrd. Like any trance set there was some chesse, but he really had the crowd moving. At the then end it was wicked seeing hime mix while STANDING on the mixer. Then he took the time to come and talk to us all afterwards. Matt called him to take a picture with Veronica so "she doesn't lick me in the cock". Thank you Menno and Markus you really rocked the house. Menno catapolted Veronica onto the stage like she was a toy doll. Crazy.

That was essentially the night. Only about 5 ppl will understand this but, the nacho supreme was all good. I was pleasently satisfied and will definatly eat there again......on a non club night.

Great seeing you SWFT, Funkycrew, Smuncky, Peter, T_ALI, Nada, Dimitri, Alino, VRON, Nick (can't wait to hear the good news bro), Shaya, PartEGurl, Negar, Sarah, Jesse, Stephen, Bobby, Tom, Arnej, Edina, Oz, Chris, Kris, and soooooo many more, but this is taking too long to write and I have to bounce to Tony Romas for dinner. But I certainly can't wait for Prodigy.......CAN'T WAIT. Junkie XL is looking like a good time too.

That was you. Hilarious. I think everyone had a chuckle when you asked for the pen back.

What an incredible night of trance. Armin turned out a great bangin' performance that I had NOT been expecting. Getting him, Markus, and Menno in one night is more than I deserve.

KH was crazy packed for most of the night, but I inched my way forward hour by hour until I was right up against the stage for the dying moments of Menno's set.

Posted by ~C~ on Mar-22-2009 20:25:

Blake Jarrell's opening set was GREAT. Was really impressed. He really got the buzz/vibe going in KH for sure, and it just got better from there!

I really enjoyed Gareth Emery this time around. I was pretty disappointed with his set last time he was here in Guv. That time was my first time seeing him, and I had HIGH expectations. This time he actually lived up to them!!! And i was happy to hear Love Story - Nadia Ali....even know everyone except for me seems to hate that track! LMAO

ARMIN WAS PHENOMENAL!!!! wow, i've never danced that hard to any set in my entire life. My legs hurt at the end of the night from not even dancing, but jumping up and down through most of it! And he played my fav. track NOT ENOUGH TIME - Cosmic Gate feat. Emma Hewitt!!!! i was lucky enough to have been backstage when he did.....so that was BY FAR the highlight of my night! wooooooo, I'm in love.

I caught a very small amount of Markus. Armin was too good to break away from for too long! Markus was playing L.E.D. There Be Light when i was in there, which i LOVE. So i was happy to hear that.

Then I was convinced to go check out Jesse Rose in Gallery, and man, that guy was on FIRE! So much fun. Glad i took at break from the trance to check him out.

ALL in ALL one of the best Guv events i've ever been to....esp. for trance. The crowd was GREAT....so much energy...everyone was cheering, clapping, dancing up a storm...u can't ask for anything more than that. Armin looked like he was having a blast too. Saw TONS of TA's there...way too many to list! It was great seeing all of u at some point during the night! The entire complex was going off! Loved every minute of being there, and had a really hard time leaving. I listened to the start of Menno's set, but my body was DONE, and i bailed shortly after....

wow. THE END. P.S. i heard RADIO SLAVE at FW sucked! wooooooo made the right choice.

P.P.S - Shaya.....you're the fucking man...u and i were soooooo "IN" last night. u rock. Thanks for being my partner in crime...u really made my night :P

Speaking of the crowd... yeah, most of the people were complete retards. Elbowing as they passed by, pure stupidness.

started off a great night at smoke's which was a very wise decision in the end. i didn't get hungry like i usually do on long nights like this.

got to guv just before 10 and got in on the reduced which was sweet. talk about toronto being spoiled. $20 for a jam packed night of international DJs.

it was really wierd seeing both the KH and GUV empty. thankfully it was still pretty empty when dekay started which gave me lots of room to dance as he was played some really nice hard stuff. not the stuff i usually listen to but i thoroughly enjoyed it and it got the night started off just right. ps. i also loved his base tan.

made it over to the KH after and caught a little bit of emery and armin. not gonna judge the full set cuz i didn't hear it, but from what i heard in the first hour, it was the same armin as before...nothing special.

had to walk through the tent to get to the guv and as vince said after, it felt like i just smoked a pack. markus started off slow and built up the set nicely. it was stupidly hot and packed but still enjoyed ever little bit of it. for the last hour i went to back at the bar where there was some room to dance and wasn't as hot. gotta say the last hour was pretty awesome. he turned it up even more and threw some awesome tracks. i thought he played some marcel woods but i don't really remember well. one track that i tried to record but couldn't because of my shit camera was played right after killers-spaceman (which was a wicked track in itself). if anyone caught that plz post it up. overall, i think this set was the most i've enjoyed hearing in all the times i've seen him.

gave jerome 10 min of my time but wasn't feeling and wanted to go to the KH since i was barely there the whole night. got in with plenty of room to dance which was nice. one thing about menno that annoys me is that he plays the exact same tracks everytime near the end. this is my 4th time seeing him and i swear it's basically the same stuff. one suprise that he did mention to pull out from his cd stack was his encore track. Basic Dawn - Pure Thrust (Nu-NRG Remix). wow...totally wasn't expecting that. i don't think i've ever heard that in a club and it was amazing. just an unbelievable tune.

i was also suprised to see some of the people that came that i haven't seen in a long time. ben, jason, ola, katy, and del...it was also great to meet jason and nick.

great night overall. gotta say i loved this pure trance night and hope to see more of these.
