this was the best party of wmc for me. not only that but mike khoury dropped one of the best opening sets for lee i've heard to date. i was pretty sober the whole ride and i had a fucking blast.

definitely the party of conference but shhhhhhhhhhhhh, we don't want all those other annoying people to find out about our secret

agreed. probably the best listed boat party from what I've heard. The Freaky tikki was a bit messy too according to my roommies, I'm probably going to attempt that one next year also. Especially after that SS4D set.

They BETTER have another LEEKY Tikki next year. Don't see why they wouldn't seeing how the Leeeky sold out before the Freaky.

i was on all three and each was unique in their own way. every DJ played amazing sets and would not trade it for any other party. leeeeky tikki was definitely the best though!

keep the jokes away from the leeky tiki i agree. the people that were on the ship this past time was one of the coolest mixed crowds ever! its great for it to not be a commercial event. more of a family vibe
what happens on the leeky tiki stays on the leeky tiki lol

lol wat? you were sober? you had me fooled

and yeah khoury's set was dope - i've been wanting to see that guy for about 3 years now ever since i heard he was killing it proper in his chicago days...

I talked my 3 friends into jumping through all the hoops to get the tix for this party and I think they agree that this was hands-down the best wmc outing for us. The friendliest, most up-for-it crowd and best vibe. Burridge + Tikki Boat + open bar (wikked Mojitos) + clued-up EDM lovers = off the hook party !

Mike Khoury did a great job to get things going with the DEEPEST house - so smooth !

Lee played all things techno, but the sexy, groovy, deep, warm, funky type - perfect for this party ! The guy is so much fun and charismatic. Saw him at Karu & Y at the Minus party - on the dancefloor! Had to thank him for the great Tikki set he spun! My friends last saw him in Montral at -30 weather for Igloofest, so was a treat to experience him in much more welcoming climate!

I forgot to mention to anyone I'm on TA, but nice to meet Melina (I'm the blond dood with no shirt on in a pic with her, amongst many other great shots from Gilbert - thanks!), your friend with the pink bikini top (sorry - forgot name). Also nice to meet Joe with the Mohawk, Rocko from Chicago, and so many others that I unfortunately forget names. One went out of his way to get Naveen G for me and do the intro when he learnt he was my fav dj on Proton Radio. Btw, Naveen was absolutely down-to-earth and a pleasure to chat with.

And yes, that girl (Mireille) dancing with Lee behind the decks, was with us. We were initiating her to the EDM scene - needless to say, she's a quick learner!

Last thing : DOES ANYONE KNOW THE TRACK THAT WAS USED AS TRANSITION BETWEEN MIKE AND LEE ? ? It has a chuggy bassline and really tweaked out highs, it's hypnotic, almost 303/acid-sounding riffs. I also heard it at the Minus party...either Asuna/Carola dropped it. I checked the wmc trax thread...but to avail.... Anyhow, it continues to haunt me and defined (to me) the sound of wmc 09.

thanks to everyone who came out and showed the S+D boat why we kick so much more ass than their yuppy yacht. The tikki boat is a place for real music heads and each of the three parties showed that and each was special in its own way. Lee brought it as only he can, even digging deep into his Tyrant box of records. if all goes well, and we get the OK, we'll try to release the recordings of the party. and yes, mike khoury did a stellar job opening.

Naveen

Thanks guys...glad you enjoyed my opening set! It should be available soon - I will post here. The party was an absolute blast...could not ask for more. Great vibe on the boat, awesome crowd, and of course Lee's killer set. It really set the bar for the rest of WMC...what a way to kick things off.
