Yeah, I've noticed a lot of things that are derivatives of starcraft like the special terrain required for undead to build on, I forget the name...

Great game anyway though.. the heroes make it much more interesting.

too true. and the fuckin food limit sucks (its the gayest thing ever thought of in a strategy game). I mean if the peasants can build endless amounts of farms, why is there a damn food limit?
I just played allies (skirmish) over my network with my bro. We were humans against the Ocrs. Man I had 10 about scout towers together that shoot (land and air) and the ORCS just charged in, and destroyed them all!!! And me and bro had 3 bases each!!! Still couldnt win!

playing against the cpu on anihilate everything on the screen within 10min is impossible. Best to vs other humans.

Exactly! And I hate that no/low/high upkeep thing.. How the hell are you supposed to get a decent attack force together?? ARRGH!

Until the next patch, in which they will surely fix this, if you want to win on battle.net there is a very easy way to do so.

First, memorize the neutral hostile units that can potentially drop goblin land mines on any given map - yes it's a pain in the ass, but trust me, it is worth it.

Second, you can play any race, but night elves are the best because they can attack the neutral hostile units earlier using the Demon Hunter and brining him back to moonwells to heal him. What you should try to do is kill the things that might drop goblin land mines as early as possible. Each of them has a 10% chance of dropping mines, so if you kill all of them on a map, you have about a 40-70% chance of a free win.

Third, don't completely neglect building up a force while you do this, just in case you don't find mines.

Now, if and when you get the mines (they come in 3s), attack your opponent with a small force including your hero. As fast as you can, plant the 3 mines around his town hall.

If you have done this correctly, your opponent will probably use their scroll of town portal to return to their base and defend, this will set off the 3 mines, destroying their town hall and their entire army. Send in the rest of your army to clean up.

There is no doubt Blizzard will reduce the effectiveness of this strategy in the next patch, since it is what most top ladder players use, but until then you can take advantage of it to boost your levels.
