Viceroy hotel downtown completely sick I recommend it to everyone.

Posted by Zild on Apr-03-2009 18:23:

I stayed at the Intercontinental downtown. Within about a mile of every venue I was hitting, so it was awesome. I would stay again.

We have always stayed in downtown area every year.

I believe they go for $600 or so a night(?). We managed to get it for about $250/night. The one friend that came with us works for a record label and has connections at various hotels for when he has to book artists. So we managed to get a room there.

we stayed nearby !!! The Hilton is a good location. For us, it was perfect since we party in Downtown every single night.

Seriously, this hotel/condo thing is sooo overrated. The only thing that matters about your lodging during wmc is location, along with maybe the price. If you are going to party downtown mostly, then that's the place to be. Otherwise, the beach is the better choice. For us, the downtown location was great!! I only spent one night in south beach (BED, wednesday). Other than that, every club was within walking distance. As far as amenities go, as long as I have somewhere to rest my head from time to time, that's cool. Our kitchen was a nice advantage, but we really didn't take advantage of it that much. In my opinion a nice tv, glass shower, mints on your pillows, etc, etc, is all an incredible waste of money during conference. Now, if you get a great deal like nerve, then more power to you. Otherwise, location and cost are everything!! I look forward to staying downtown every year from now on unless something drastic comes up as far as the SoBe parties go.

we stayed at the Flamingo rented off of vrbo.com 2000sq ft penthouse 2bd/2bath with a sofa in each room a huge sectional and another couch in the living area it was on the 30th floor and the balcony was about fifty feet long, and the master br had a private balcony, and our view was overlooking the bay, we got it for 1500 from wed to mon and 7 of us split it and there was room for a lot more VRBO.com is the way to go ive done it the last two years and had absolutely sick places for cheaper than most regular spots in miami

You got any pics of that place treefer?

Posted by stvy on Apr-07-2009 03:09:

Ok so my girl dealt w/and set this up @the beginning which was november as soon as the conference dates were announced. He was so unprofessional and haven't dealt w/someone in this type of business w/so much BS...I made it clear to him since we got our flight tickets in Dec. that we were flying into FLL and made sure it was clear the rest of the times I spoke w/him which was quite a bit coming up to the conference...then the day before I call him to confirm the airport pickup and then he's like "O Shit" I thought you guys were flying into miami (which is complete BS). This was the day before we were leaving (left monday) so he says he will call me back which i knew he wouldnt so i call him back later that night to find out he wasnt getting us. wanted to get a peaceful night sleep before my 6am flight which didnt happen because of this...

when I got there and he showed us the place I confronted him on how much of a douche he's been pretty much the whole time we've been dealing w/him and how he left us hanging the day before. he was denying it and I thought he was gonna shit a brick right on the floor.

place was on Meridian Ave. near 6th st. and company is Infinity destinations or some crap like that. Stayed Mon. 23rd to Mon. 30th and it cost $650...I SO didn't want to send in that half my girl agreed on $325. just seemed too sketchy and know people who've been had like that but i just rolled w/it.

This is the review my girl wrote and I know i'm probably leaving some stuff out that I forgot but it pretty much sums it up. sorry for the ramble

I called in November to book for March. I gave my credit card as my reserve. I was told there would be a $75 charge to reserve, which later turned into send me $650 cash! I have other people who want to reserve this condo asking if you paid! How inappropriate! I agreed to send half and wanted a reciept. Meanwhile my signed contract was for my credit card. My reciept was a one sentence email.
ANYWAY

Fully furnished?! There was no microwave, no pots pans, silverware nothing other than a bed ,couch, and chair. He was the most un professional man I have ever dealt with.He offered to pick us up at the airport and last minute said he could not because he had "someone else to pick up" Leaving me to franticlly call shuttles @ 10pm, to pay double. When arriving at the airport I was then called and informed he was sending someone! To late I had already paid elsewhere. Arriving at the location I waited 15 minutes with my luggage on the curb for him to show up. (Oh and calling him to tell him I was there was responded with "can you come to my location on Washington I'll be there in 15 to give you the keys") OK SO NOW YOU WANT ME TO DRAG MY LUGGAGE DOWN 15 BLOCKS!

I got to hang out at treefermadness' penthouse Wednesday night. I don't have pics from inside the place, but I can vouch for its sheer awesomeness!

Here's a pic from the balcony:

Rob, thanks again for your hospitality Wed night/Thurs morning.

yeah i do EP ill shoot them up once i get home from work, but that was probably only a fifth of the view that Brian put up. It was by far the best place ive stayed at during conference, and im going to lock it in for the next couple of years

yeah the pictures dont do it justice, anyone who was there and there were multiple ta's there can vouch for that. Im just shocked that we got it for so low (300/night) compared to everything else.

Posted by Vince330i on Apr-08-2009 14:51:

Stayed at the Marseilles.... Your standard south beach roach hotel (what I expected). However, price was right and location was awesome at 17th and Collins.

Posted by drEamer on Apr-08-2009 15:24:
