Yes, they spend serious coin on their sound rig for each event but it can be done. more pictures at www.awakenings.nl |

The jail party would be really cool. Hopefully someone can make it happen.
another cool space!
The info sites say there were 26 hangings there,
the last was a double in 1962. Graves with human skulls & bones found in 2007.
They had "the lash" or whip flogging
used as part of criminal sentences in Canada until about the mid-1950s so maybe that happened there too.

some renderings of the future facility there.

I went and walked around with my friend on Thursday night and took some pictures. The venue is cool and it is suitable for a party with one main room and either one or two small rooms. Capacity should be around 300 so it will be intimate but I think that will add to the whole experience. I know I for one will be willing to pay extra money for the experience.
For anyone interested they are allowing photographers to go in and take pictures for a donation to the hospital fund. It's kind of interesting how a lot of spots will be closed off to the public (I think there will be only access to 2 levels) but back in the day there were prisoners all the way up to the top level in these tiny cells with no fire exits.
Check out the website for information on the tours and events.

capacity will be 350.
Side note: I went to Alcatraz today. It was awesome! I took nearly 300 pictures! Alex, you would have loved it!
