I'm waiting to discover the right tracks. It could be months yet.

I have about the first five or six songs planned out, but I can't find the track I need to make the next step.

What genre(s) are you looking at this time?

Hey, glad to hear that!

I love positive feedback

Okay got around to listen to this. Yang was soooooo uber happy, I really was like
It's probably how you've intended it anyways, but it was a bit too cheesy for me
I liked Yin better, though I like it less full on, progpsy suits me more. Didn't paid too much attention to the mixing but seems like some of the transitions are a bit on the short side.

Thanks for the listen, Yang was meant to be absurdly happy. It's hard to find happy, uplifting full on that doesn't reek of cheese, but I enjoyed how it turned out.

I'll have a progressive psy set out in about 2 months time, it should be right up your alley

Progressive psy-trance again, but with a more sinister edge and darker tones. It should be fairly similar to Contact though.

Final bump. Where are the stragglers who haven't listened yet?

Posted by owien on May-02-2009 03:06:

well i got round to hearing the dark set and currently downloading the other one. i loved the dark set dude some good driving shit going on and if i was being picky you may need to work on structure a wee bit other then that its all good. look forward to more

Posted by ziptnf on May-02-2009 03:40:

Thanks, owien, it's hard to construct a perfect set, because not all good songs have the same energy level. During the last half of the set, the energy was a tad up and down but still fairly thumping.
Thanks for listening, I hope you enjoy Yang, it's got a full on energy level the whole time!

Great! Sorry about the happiness, it was meant to be retardedly cheesy. I hope it made you dance

Yin is the opposite of the spectrum, I hope you like that as well. It's quite different from Yang, but probably keen to your tastes. Thanks for the listens, let me know what you think of Yin

Posted by yukii on May-03-2009 19:45:

haha, i was wondering! did he throw that piece in on purpose?! lol smart smart

I'd recommend acid, but I think it's good without drugs too! Thanks for the comments, all the work makes it worth it for good reactions.

I'll try to listen to this sometime, mainly to return the favor

I hate how 80% of psytrance has had the same bassline since its inception.

yeah, its nice to roll/get high watever you do.
but you don't need drugs to appreciate good fucking music.
if the music sucks.. then maybe you need drugs hehe.
but yeah good job; there's some psytrance out there that sucks goat testies

Thanks, dude, I appreciate the listen. I really liked your hip hop mix, it was quite different from the thuggish ruggish stuff that I normally hear. I have Tethered Survival downloaded, gonna check it out when I have some spare time

A big part of psytrance is the bassline, but even though a vast majority of it sounds similar, you can pick out some really unique basslines every now and then. I tend to let the bassline just keep the music running and I focus on the sounds and structure of the tracks. In Yang's case, I focused a lot on the melody. Hope you enjoy!

I listened to Yang and it was just wayyyy too happy and plur. The major fault being that the tracks themselves were over-the-top and every production seemed like trying its hardest to be the happiest track ever

It just wasn't my type of music.

Solid mixing.

I may listen to the second part though I'm guessing it'll be over-the-top dark tracks. I guess I can only really stand prog-psy.

Hah, thanks, I know psytrance isn't for everyone. Yang's purpose was to be happy almost to the point where you were like

Yin isn't quite as over-the-top; it's pretty thumping, but not near as silly as Yang is.

I will have a prog-psy set out sometime soon so that might be more your style!

At least it's not happy hardcore, right?

Yang isn't really as psychedelic as shit has been recently. I've put out some regular full on mixes that give some sort of representation of newer psytrance, but Yin is a better example of the darker stuff. I have a new full on mix scheduled after I release my prog-psy mix in a month or so.

Thanks for the listen anyways, I know this stuff isn't a lot of folks' style! Cheers!
