Unfortunately, I doubt this is the case....

if it was the mom... where would the girl be now? its not like she is chillin in a friends basement or something... the police would have search anyone and everyone who is even remotely related to the family.

if it was a random/someone not closely related they would have probably taken the kid maybe because they had somethign against the family or whatever.... and then once they saw how big the whole police hunt was they would likely try to 'get rid' of any evidence.

I really really really hope I am wrong but I have trouble believing the girl is just sitting in someones basement.

I find it comical that all of you have so much insight into what people act like when they lose their child.

I think the sketch looks like her.

I have nothing else to go on when I declare that I also believe she took Tori.

People who are in shock also look pretty chill.
The human mind has a way of detaching from a situation so they can handle it.

Yeah I agree with you. I just think her behaviour is suspicious in addition to all the other evidence against her (ie. the video of the kidnapper has the same color hair and jacket as the mom). If the kidnapper in the video was a man or something, I would probably have not even noticed her odd (in my opinion) behavior.

BTW, whats with the father saying that he thinks the sketch is someone he went to highschool with X amount of years ago. Like everyone can probably say that pic resembles someone they've come across in the last 10-15 years! I wonder if this former classmate is someone who had someone against him and would have a motive to do this, or if its just someone he went to school with who happens to sorta look like the drawing. If its the latter then I think his whole 'lead here' is a joke.

The girl he went to highschool with is likely not within the age range of the suspect, might have looked like that when she was in highschool but does she still look like that when she is 30?

Maybe I am being overly negative about this whole situation... but this whole scenario is pissing the hell out of me! I hope the cops know a lot of stuff that they are just strategically not releasing to the pulic...

Hope this girl gets found and the kidnapper gets caught!

2 people got arrested

Michael Thomas C.S. Rafferty is charged with murder and abduction while Terri Lynn McLintic is charged with abduction.

Posted by Skipper on May-20-2009 15:10:

I find it odd that they would announce there was a murder charge and no information or confirmation that the girl is dead or her body was found or they confessed. I guess that's what the press conference is for.

Posted by cammaxwell on May-20-2009 15:18:

Yeah, I haven't heard anything about the charges yet? Where was that leaked from?

Do we know the connection the pair had to the family yet?

Two arrests made in the murder of 8-year-old Victoria Stafford

Eight-year-old Victoria Stafford was last seen leaving her Woodstock, Ont. school on Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2009.

A 28-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of eight-year-old Woodstock girl Victoria Stafford, who had been missing for over a month.

An 18-year-old woman has also been charged with accessory to murder and helping the accused escape the area, court documents show.

Michael Thomas Rafferty and Terri-Lynne McClintic appeared in a Woodstock court today to be arraigned on the charges.

Police have not officially released information on the girl's whereabouts.

CP24's Sue Sgambati in Woodstock the suspects are known to the parents but did not know that Tori was the girl they allegedly took.

Police sources also tell CP24 that the girl's abduction has been allegedly viewed as an "opportunistic crime" and was not a random act. They also say the child may have allegedly been sought for "nefarious" purposes.

Tori was last seen April 8 on surveillance video as she was leaving her school with an unidentified woman

The search for the missing Woodstock, Ont. Girl has taken several twists since her disappearance was first reported.

It took police more than a week to classify Tori's disappearance as an abduction, and the girl's community was questioning why an Amber Alert had not been issued right away.

Police sources tell CP24 that they're still searching for Tori's body.

Stay tuned to CP24 on TV, online, and on radio 1050 for the latest.
