While the pitchers have for sure had their off-nights. They have been consistently good over the last few years. But I can't begin to count the number of 3-1, 4-2, etc. games that the Jays have lost over the last few years, and it's been a LOT.

No one said it has been a chronic problem, nor has it been their main problem. Everyone knows that their hitting has been the problem but this year is a completely different animal. Their pitching staff is completely different, you don't lose your 2/3/4 and projected 5 starter without replacing them and think you will do anywhere near as good or get the same kinds of results from the pitching staff. Who did they replace those guys with? A bunch of rookies that otherwise never would have made the cut. They haven't been burnt by it yet but once teams have a second go around to some of these new guys, once they start making adjustments to them I think the Jays will be having a much harder go at things.

you are mistaking being negative for being realistic

14-6

Last 10: 7-3
Home: 7-3 Road: 7-3
Runs Scored: 124
Runs Against: 85

A division cant be lost in the first half of the season but it sure can be won

I like the Jays start, but they always cool down in May.

The pitching staff is a pop gun staff. Even though they had the best pitching staff in the majors last year, this staff isn't even close.

Also, the Jays will not hit at this pace for a whole season. Marco Scutaro is not a true lead off hitter.

Wait til the Jays play some teams in the AL East and then we'll talk. Boston, Tampa and New York will be bashing the ball all over with that pitching staff.

Watch out for Zack Greinke starting for the Royals. That kid is the real deal. I love Roy Halliday, but Greinke will be better than him this year. Just watch.

WoW!!

What a great 9th inning

Jays up 4-3 going into the Top of the 9th...

Cleveland scores 3 in the Top to make it 6-4.

Bautista just hit a clutch single in the Bottom of the 9th to tie the game 6-6!!

Phew..Got out of that!

I thought we were down and out after the Top of the 9th! But it shows that the Jays are never out of it which makes it exciting!

Good times were had regardless.

went to the game sauced tonight and made a scene rooting for the Indians with their hat on. later on we snuck down to the cheap seats where I continued to root loudly for the indians. this old broad next to me told me to settle down or she'd get the usher to check my ticket, lol

I'm glad we are playing in Anahiem instead of Dodger stadium with the way Manny is swinging the bat lately Gotta love our BJ's

He says it was a prescription mistake.... sure Manny.

good, i never liked manny being manny anyways

Posted by daves on May-07-2009 18:49:

that is pure gold - LA is the only MLB team with a better win avg than us right now as it is... things are falling into place

now let's see bottom-feeder Cleveland take another chunk outta Boston, then have Tampa Bay do the same in Boston's next series... meanwhile i think we'll handle LA again tonight and then stomp all over Oakland

we should have Litsch and Romero back before too long as well, right?

Posted by StereoPrincess on May-07-2009 18:52:

They are doing so well but where are the fans!

I think we should do a TOTA Jays game outting?
