mmm. a sweet idea, me would DJ too. would it be a one off thingy, or perhaps a monthly thang if possible?.. cos if so, fly... you sed if 20 of us chipped in..... that means the profit would have to be split 20 ways.. which would lead to an argument. probably.

ideas for a name for the night?...... Tranceaddict UK?
music policy?... normal trance, uplifting.. building upto acid trance?
door price?......�5?

i think the best thing to do... is to do a sort of survey thingy to see how many people would come... and then decide form there if its werth actually thinking abou this nite. TBH peeps will travel from all over the country to gatecrasher.. but r they willing to travel to a 'up & coming night'?

Me thinks some people have mistaken the idea here. It is a night for us to get together isnt it? not a night we are promoting. As for venue's, me n Acton have done a DJ night b4, just highered out some gaff, bout �100 and took our own equipment, (we got speakers from a mate although wouldnt be able to get them to where ever this is) but the major problem was the times. 6-12. Theres no point in us doin this really unless we can get a venue until atleast 2am although all night would be better

I suppose we dont have to have a bar? cuz we could just take our own drink, could do with a fridge or somethine :S i dont fuckin know! anyway wot im sayin is if we can organise the hiring of a decent, LATE OPENENING venue then we can get it sorted from there no problems like

My suggestion:

ring/e-mail sum club, don't matter which 1, and ask them like if we could i dunno, use the facilites, but let them have their normal crowd etc. along with us fukkers, so they can all hear Jay's trainwrecks aswell. If somewhere like Tall Trees equivalent in Sheffield would let us do this - it would not be fukkin cheap, prolly at least a few grand. Probably a lot more, but summat like sendin em cds of the DJs who would play and what not, so they can hear we're not all crap etc. may bring the price down - but I don't really have a fucking clue, but I will ring Promise in Newcastle 2morra afternoon 2 see if they can give me any info at all.

DJ's.. im sure all the TA DJ's that are here would do a night for not much (if not free) and we have plenty of them... plus if we are short i have a couple of mates that DJ quite large scale things like sunny D, insomz and sunday mass... but they will ask a fee..

venue wise... its gonna be hard. if we are staying open for a night we have to pay lots of fees. unless we book a club, in which everything should be inclusive i.e. bar license.. PRS license for the night.. security etc. i will keep my eyes open for a venue that is OK for a night in c/field (as there are lots of ppl i can get to come to c/field) and we can have a wee afterparty if its here too for the 'select' few

if we put our heads together enough this can be done

Yeah of course they'll dj for free, i know me, luke, nuk, az, dave, gibbo and sy would all prob be up for that so theres bound to be enuff even if a couple dont come

Just one thing, what kinda numbers r we looking at, 300, 400, 500 etc?

Coz spad and jason seem to have 400 people round their house most of the time anyways

well im sorry to say i unfortunately don't know any of you. but, this sounds like a jolly good idea so i wouldn't mind helping

someone i know hired out a local club to raise money for his gap year thingy. the deal was he split the profits of the night 50/50 with the club and he got quite a bit. and that was just for a sixth form. so if it's a more public event you can make a hell of a lot.

it all lies in good organisation so i heard.

As far as I know Promise are just promoters of a trance night, they don't own the club or have any real say on what goes there. I think Promise basically book the DJ's and take the door money while Foundation get the beer money and probably a small fee from the Promise lot.

Some local people did do a trance night in Newcastle recently. They held it at the Newcastle University Union club.

There are a few people on these boards who go to Uni, could you not ask about a night at their Union? I think that could be one way to go. They should already have a license until at least 2, be fairly small, and allow 'young enterprising' students an opportunity. And opening late isn't that big a problem, we could always just open really early and still have a long party

Ok 1st thing U all need to decide on is what area you want to hold it in, as it wants to be mainly UKTA involved, it will need to be central.

2nd: how many ppl u gonna cater for, decide and stick to that limit, that way u can then decide on the size of venue.

3rd: the sort of crowd u want to attract. Beer boys are not welcome as far as i am concerned and most local venues have more than their fair share of them, so for the 1st night U want it to be small, say 300 max, that way we and friends can go in cyber or whatever and not risk ridicule from the beer boys.

4th: U will require security, for 3 reasons, to limit the number, to stop any old drunken idiot invading and to keep the local police happy.

5th: U will need to find out local noise laws, some local authorites will fine u heavily if the noise limit is over their prescribed DB level.

6th: if u plan on selling alcohol, then U will not be allowd ppl under the age of 18 anywhere in the venue. (Bye coup )

I dont think Dj's are a prob as we already have many here who want to spin.
Equipment i suggest u hire with insurance then if worse comes to worse it's not YOUR equipment that gets fucked or nicked and U will have insurance to cover the hired gear if anything does go wrong.

Now i know a hell of a lot of venue owners / promoters in pretty much the whole of the UK, so when u have decided on the location I can prolly sort a venue but it may involve members of the public that they wish to have access as they may run it as a normal night for them.

I thought bouncers would come kinda with the price of the venue, and the same for like equipment. Also most places take any money made through alcohol. So if we had it on a monday night, or thursday or sometime it is quiet, then they would b happy to have it.

I could book a venue 2moro for just us for 120 quid in aylesbury, max capacity of 300, and equipement comes in that price, and bouncers. Coz they normally have nobody in there, so they take the beer money from that night.

But you dont want it in aylesbury.

So Neo use yr contacts in sheffield and get us the republic, hehe. No let us know what you can do mate
