not that i think trance is not deader than white after labour day, but deep house parties are big time sausage fests, most techno parties as well.

Most dance music parties in the US in general.

You have to make your own crowd.

it is why i love picnic electonique. The sun brings out the women, and they don't have to play bob sinclair

Depends. Here there are quite a lot of hot women at the big trance shows. Not that we have many trance shows though.

Aren't you excited?!! I'm so excited. Quentin Harris is an awesome kick off and I'm so glad you were wrong about them not happening this year.

yeah that development must have fallen through.

can't wait.

i'll probably be at icube, jus-ed, kyle hall, omar s, theo parrish

i'm going to be in an out of the city this summer so I can't go to all of them sadly..

@julien - Sunday Best is a party that takes place every Sunday at an open lot next the Gowanus Canel in Brooklyn. Music plays from like Noon until 7 PM. Local vendors serve food, there is a bar, and people just get down on a Sunday Afternoon. The promoters are Justin Carter, Eamon Harkin, and Doug Singer - Justin Carter throws some of the best parties in NYC IMO. He's also responsible for the Easy Lover loft parties, the Mr. Saturday Night parties, and the Beach Parties at Water Taxi Beach. He brings in a lot of afro-deep house, jazz, and disco acts, generally just really authentic house and disco music. I've seen Omar S, Moodymann, Jus-Ed, I:Cube, Danny Wang, DJ Dex, and many more at his parties...

this is my favorite summer party.

here's a video: (you can spy me and my gf if you know us)

Remakes of classic trance/dance tunes are so not done. I cant even bother to listen to them. Paul van Dyk always used to be one of my favorites though (before i switched to more electronic/dubby kinda music).

Posted by Acton on May-28-2009 07:42:

Just found out that Roger Shah is now making a remix of this. Brilliant.

yea trance sucks. even though I dont listen to any of it so I wouldn't know and base my opinion of it off Paul van dyk. fail.

on a side note.... wtf is pvd even doing still being alive? why hasnt he retired yet?

Posted by Lews on Jun-02-2009 05:46:

Simple answer? He's having fun. He loves music. He love's DJ-ing. He love's it. He's not in it for the money. He's made more than probably any DJ besides Tiesto or Avb will ever come close to. Have you ever seen him at a gig? He's always smiling. He's always happy. Give him a break. He's doing what he likes to do and he's having fun. Isn't that all anyone wants out of life?
