This sort of thing isn't usually my style but I downloaded it anyway and for some reason it feels very appropriate and nice right now.

I like to feel like that when playing music.

this is on it's 3rd airing now, real feeling to this, mixing can still be improved, that might be my personal thing when I thought the it needed to pick up pace, but in general the transitions were good and the track selection was even better.

get me on culprit

If you keep these tunes going in this fun shuffley direction you have I'm sure you'll attract some attention out west

will download your ep when I have fucking better internet at my new house (in the middle of moving)

Woot!

Downloading

Posted by Nikke on May-08-2009 06:52:

yep this was indeed solid. It peaked in my opinion very nicely in the last track and the progression was there.

cool stuff as always

Intro grabbed me right away, I love it when you start off all ambient and spacey. A few tracks in, and the tracks seemed to be too indistinct, made it all too easy to tune the set out, and before I know it half the mix was over. I really needed to give it a couple of listens before the individual tracks took shape. Overall, I liked it after a few listens, though your Standard Rooftop and Afterhours Duets sets were much more my cup of tea.

Favorite songs:
1. Agnes - Image Of You [sthlmaudio]
2. Benjamin Brunn - Cool Ist Here [BineMusic]
13.Ali Kuru - Taksim Dub [Kailash]

Thanks for listening guys. I also think the mix plods along a bit until the Dop remix about halfway in, but this is the type of set I would play when opening, more or less, and I think it's good to hold back in that regard.

Check.

I actually enjoyed the first half quite a bit, kept me from skimming, great lil mix overall, love that Lowtec track.

+1... a bit of a snoozefest for me until about halfway through... the rest are tracks I'm probably gonna have to track down and steal to play at my new regular gig that I (think I) recently scored. (Have already played "I'm Just A Man" out...great track.)

Nicely done, great use of horns and organic sounds, and well-mixed as always.

Don't forget K-Core!

I really enjoyed the spacey intro and first couple tracks to this, but I'l have to agree that it did tend to get a little boring and drag a bit. I understand you were going for an opener type set, though. Mixing and everything else was ace. I just got Traktor myself and I'm really enjoying it.

Posted by noikeee on May-16-2009 23:51:

This was class Clovis, well done. I feel your sets have become more interesting and pleasing lately.

This was a great mix Clovis, I listened a few times during the weekend. Track selection was as impeccable as always, my only complaint is that the mix dragged on a bit in the middle section, but other than that it was perfect.

Really, the problem is that when I know I'm recording and I'm not playing a party, I over think mixes and then end up electing to play it safer and wait longer before mixing in.

Then the energy drops between tracks and they seem too drawn out. I could have mixed in much earlier between that run and everything would have sounded better.

When I'm buzzed and playing out I don't think about things as much and it helps a lot...

Posted by Mr Game+Watch on May-19-2009 22:24:

Heh, I have the exact same problem as you, Clovis, with regards to mixing out... I'm definitely much more experimental when playing for a group of friends, but if I'm recording something a bit more 'serious', then I will play it almost TOO safe.
